Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Orlando

⭐⭐⭐ for the food bc it was good and we ate it, it just wasn't the right order and we had already waited a good 35 minutes to get it and we didn't want to wait another 35 minutes for the correct order.We ordered 2 combos and drinks.

⭐ For the service, well, we felt like we were annoying the workers by ordering a burger without pickles and extra ketchup... Idk, it was weird. After we ate, we started to leave but before we left the parking area we decided to get a cookies and cream sweet treat. So we pulled into another spot and order it. I ordered extra cookies in the ice cream, bc duh... And 20 minutes later I had to press the button to ask if everything was okay bc we only ordered 1 ice cream and it had been 20 minutes 🤷🏼‍♀️ Then over the intercom we hear "girl your ice cream has been ready it's up here melting because we've been running around everywhere looking for you" My response was "oh I thought that you knew where we would be based on where we ordered the food from and press the button to order it" and I'm not kidding, the worker said "oh yeah one of them is broke are you at that one?" I said there is no sign or indication that this is broken so I don't know if this one is broken. And the worker told me that because it melted he added a little on top and that he did add a bunch of extra cookies even though I never asked about how many or how much cookies they added. I just ordered cookies and cream with extra cookies. Mind you and this ice cream cost me almost $10. At this point I was just so frustrated, so once they brought it out to us I got home and realized that not only were there not extra cookies but there was barely a few cookie sprinkled on the top of the vanilla ice cream and that's it.

It's rare that I've gotten Sonic, but I've always had exceptional service and food from every Sonic I've ever been to. This particular Sonic was absolutely terrible though. It literally annoys me just thinking about it. I feel like I am very fair whenever I leave reviews and I absolutely hate Karen's. So leaving a negative review kind of kills me but my son asked me if we could get Sonic today and I told him no because this is the only one anywhere near our house and you couldn't pay me to come back to this place. I really hope that there are better training practices put into place or some measures put into place to help not only future customers but also the employees because it has to be stressful for them as well when their coworkers are screwing up so bad. It looks bad on everyone when anyone acts like they just don't gaf about their job or...

We drove 20 minutes to Sonic located on Semoran & 408 for the last time. It's been going down hill for the past few years. There's only a few speakers/order boards up and the rest are gone. Obviously, it makes it easier on the carhops but it gives an impression this restaurant is days from shutting down. We have been going to this location for the past 11 years and it used to be great. For the past few years, the food quality is awful. The fountain drinks are mostly carbonated water and taste horrible.

Our order today contained a Rt 44 lime-aid and they didn't put any limes in it. We also had 2 large cheese tater tot orders AND paid for "extra" cheese. There wasn't enough cheese for the regular order and definitely nothing extra. My Coke Zero with paid for extra vanilla flavor tasted like carbonated water with a bit of color from the coke syrup. They left out the sauce packets for my daughter's food. Receiving our food like this has been the norm for the past several visits. We keep hoping it will get better but there's zero signs of improvement. It just gets worse. This is the most depressing Sonic in Orlando. It makes me very sad as Sonic was my first job many years ago - back when the onion rings were hand cut and breaded in the restaurants. The food was so much better back then. I'm not expecting that level of quality but I do expect to receive what I paid for and in good, consumable condition. We poured both of our Rt. 44 drinks down the drain as soon as we got home. Such a waste of time and food.

By the way, the manager of this location doesn't need to reply to my review. Just do right by your future customers and serve food the way they order it. If they pay for extra cheese, flavoring, etc., honor that and provide it. If not, refund their money. Put the rest of your menu boards back up and turn on the lights so it looks like your restaurant is open and thriving. We aren't coming back and will be visiting another franchise location for...

Took a walk from my house to this local Sonic to try the Sonic Smasher.

I've been gorging myself on YouTube content involving smash burgers and other burger trends for some time, so I was interested to see where Sonic's new smash burger stacked up.

I ordered a Sonic Smasher, pickle fries, and a Diet Coke using the mobile app.

Apparently the app prefers you drive instead of walk, so I had to pick a drive-in stall number... but I wasn't in a drive-in stall. Luckily a staff member approached me and helped me through the process by picking an available spot.

I received my food in a timely manner. Probably won't get the pickle fries again. They are fine, but just really thin. Would have preferred a thicker pickle and less number of fries.

As for the Sonic Smasher... My previous favorite burger was the garlic butter burger just because it added the extra juice that other burgers on the menu tend to lack. Had a number of dry burgers from Sonic. Not this one though!

The Sonic Smasher is probably the best burger on the menu currently. Toppings are perfect. My only gripe? Not enough maillard... The patties feel like pre-formed thin patties (like a McDonald's double cheeseburger) instead of a smashed thin ground beef ball.

I imagine this choice was due to Sonic being a fast-fast food place, but maybe substitute a thicker patty and get a good spatula or two to smash it down thin during the cook. Get those lacey edges going as best as you can, and you'd have a real winner here.

Then we just have to work on those fries...

(I rated atmosphere low just because I was being bitten by ants on the patio, there was no music outside to make me forget the ant bites, and the only other guests on the patio were silent fast-food zombies or big loud complainers not really doing anything to improve their scenario...
