I’m writing this review based on my experience on 8/10/25. I previously ordered from Uber and enjoyed my meal so much, I decided to pick up my order. Initially, I thought the Altamonte location was still open but realized I placed a pick up order for Kirkman. I called the restaurant and tried to cancel my order but was told that they didn’t know how and I’d have to call my bank. So, I decided to drive across town to pick up my order. When arriving, the parking lot had trash all over the lot and the shopping plaza was dirty. When I entered the restaurant and approached the counter, I was asked for my name but before the cashier handed me my bag, I was also asked for my card and ID. When I asked about this policy, I was told that the restaurant would check ID for orders over $30 due to recent scams and theft.
As a customer, I found this unsettling and I’m not sure why the cashier made it a point to tell me about theft, etc. It felt like she was making an assumption about me. I had suspicions about this request. I paid online for my order and with Apply Pay. What identity could she possibly verify? The transaction was made via Apple. Why isn’t this policy made known when ordering food? The cashier told me about this policy but didn’t enforce it either. Instead, she made it a point to issue a threat that the “next time” I come, it may not be her and someone will be checking my ID.
Even if this is true that this restaurant has had theft, this is poor service to treat your customers like criminals. Not matter why she found it necessary to tell me this, it is poor service to assume your patrons have ill intentions. So, no, there will not be a next time but this is a last time for me.
If you are still visiting or planning to dine or pick up food at this location, do yourself a favor and go where you are treated best. This is not the Stonnington’s Shrimp is what we do restaurant from the past. It’s sad but I can confirm, they lost another customer today. Do yourself a favor and try a new place, you deserve better.
As for the food, Fridays Uber order was delicious. Today, I received old fish, dry Macaroni and a missing red beans and rice. Again, I was just a patron ordering food but this experience sealed it for me and I am done. This place is a hard no for me...
Read more0 stars USE EXTREME CAUTION eating here. The large number of drain flies flying through out the restaurant should have made me cancel my order. Took a chance and it was a huge mistake!!! I GOT FOOD POISONING, I was sick throwing up and other for 2 whole days. Their shrimp dinner that included Mac n cheese and corn bread were the ONLY things I had eaten that day and was too sick to eat anything after. Their sweet tea containers didn't have liners and you could taste that old, I wasn't cleaned well might have mold, taste to the tea. I only could take a sip of it, it was so bad I could not drink the drink that came with my meal. I called the next day and asked to speak to a manager. I told him what was happening. He told me his name and that he took my information down and that all I would have to do is come in and they would provide me a refund. I made him aware I do not live near by and it will be a couple of weeks before I could come back in. He assured me it would be OK. Low and behold, I get there today and informed them of who I spoke with by name and what they told me. They literally told me to stand to the side to wait in a line, AGAIN, after I already waited in line to speak with someone while they make food and serve the entire line that grew behind me. Those were their words to me. I was appalled being told such and let them know that is unprofessional and that's poor customer service. After trying to waste more of my time they refused to give me a refund saying that nobody by that name works there or ever has. And since I did not go to a doctor (seriously any knowledgeable adult can recognize food poisoning and knows a doctors visit wouldn't do a thing but cost you and your insurance and put money in your doctors pocket)and because I don't have my receipt after the so called lying impersonator of a manager told me it would be no issue they wouldn't honor what I was told. I left. I will never spend money in this establishment EVER AGAIN and I will make others aware my experience as well because they lack care of their customers and their cleaning processes can be considered...
Read moreMy review is based on service not food. The food is amazing however arrived slightly warm due to a misunderstanding at the restaurant. On 05/01 I called several times to place an order for pick up. After about 3 tries I decided to use the online option to order the food. My order never changes so I was under the impression I ordered the 5 piece lunch special that comes with a drink for 10.50. I placed an order for 3 specials priced at 10.80 online (so I thought) and a cod and 3piece shrimp meal. The shrimp meals were actually 10.80 online plus a convenience fee. I sent my son to pick up our orders and when he asked about drinks he was advised that we didn’t pay for drinks. He called and I told him that I ordered the lunch special which is 10.50 that’s comes with a drink. The cashier went back and forth and even pulled up the website advising that there are two separate areas to place orders for the 5 piece meal, and advised that the section I ordered from didn’t include a drink. I then asked it if could be refunded and rung up again because I basically paid more, for less. She declined. Eventually I had my son just take the food because it was just became and a back and forth thing. My main issue is lack of customer service and if I had cancelled the entire order and asked for a refund then I would’ve wasted Stoningtons food and my time. However, if I had placed the order over the phone it also would’ve cost less so I loss regardless. But to know that the website reroutes you and states that you get two sides a drink but not honor it when it was the same price. That’s bad customer service. At what point could it not have been refunded to include the drink or simple give the drink due to...
