On January 5th, I traveled to Orlando to visit some friends and was in search of a good vegetarian restaurant that would be open at 9am. After searching for a while, I located Veggie Garden. The reviews seemed good enough and would gladly have indulged my taste-buds that morning. Veggie Garden is located in the “China-Town” area of Orlando on Colonial 50 after Mills, if you were driving toward Downtown. At first glance you may not locate; as it is nestled in between a couple of shops. Upon arrival they were closed with the open sign on. I proceeded to knock several times on the glass door and patiently waited for someone to acknowledge. Unfortunately, there was no response and by 9:30 am decided to continue my journey towards satisfying my hunger at Infusion Tea; which luckily wasn’t too far down the road.

We visited this place for the first time yesterday and were pleasantly surprised to find all their gluten free options very well labeled inside their display case + when we asked we learned that all items not explicitly listing wheat in the description are gluten free - which is nearly everything. I only wish they'd mentioned that more clearly online, because we would have visited sooner. It's a rare gem to find so many options both vegan and gluten free, it was hard to choose! We ordered the veggie & tofu pho, Banh Canh pho with udon noodles, Bun Bi amazing veggie vermicelli noodles, and Hu Tieu Xao sweet potato noodle stir fry + several items from the display case. Everything was beautifully made, fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. We will definitely visit again!

I ordered a banh bao, and it was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the combo plate—it’s a fantastic way to experience a variety of preparations featuring TVP, seitan, and tofu. This dish offers so many options to try, making it perfect for anyone who loves plant-based proteins. We also tried the udon noodle soup, and the broth was heavenly—light, fresh, and full of flavor. It came with vegan ham and tofu, which was such a treat since many places don’t offer multiple protein options like this. The standout feature of this restaurant is the variety of plant-based proteins. It’s rare to find a place that serves TVP, seitan, and tofu all in one menu. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

Coming from an actual Vietnamese person raised with authentic Vietnamese cuisine, this place completely misses the mark. It was incredibly disappointing when I went to the restaurant looking forward to finding a vegan spot with Vietnamese cuisine. Pretty much every single one of my friends praised this place, but when my mother in law treated me out here I had to lie and said I really enjoyed the food when in reality this lands in my top 10 most disappointing restaurant experiences. Yet even after coming here all my friends still rave about this place, but none of them are Vietnamese and know what true authentic Vietnamese food is. I am here to tell you not only is it not authentic, but it is also just straight up bad. Viet nomz is more authentic than this place. That being said I do wish prosperity for this place as they have actual vegan options and meats, but the flavors and seasonings are not up to par just yet. Thing is that because of all my friends saying they loved this place, I can't help but think maybe, JUST MAYBE, I went on a bad afternoon. However because my first experience was so disappointing and subpar, I'm too afraid to go to waste my money again and land with yet another bad experience.

Edit: Jesus christ and yikes yikes YIKES... I went again to give it another shot and it's just as bad and just as inauthentic. Very VERY disappointing and wondering where all these good reviews are from... I'm never...

Disappointingly okay. We had higher hopes given the reviews.

Service was pleasant but unattentive. Our waters went empty and stayed empty even after asking for refills. Actually, my water never even came. Noticed the same of other tables. There were a few other offs not worth explaining.

Strangely enough, there's not a vegetable soup on the menu, you'll have to ask for it. All the pho's have either tofu, soybean, or some combination of soy/tofu fake food add-ins. Their pho's come with lemon, sprouts, basil, and cilantro though we didn't see any cilantro. No jalapenos or limes as others tend to do.

Parking's hard in the rear, as you have to back all the way out into a busy side street to get out. Better off parking out front or in the nearby Publix overflow lot.

I don't know, maybe we just ordered the wrong stuff the first time out. Peaceful ambiance. Pleasant service. ...

absolutely perfectly seasoned vegan meats and broth. wow. to impress this vegan whose eaten all over the world…. this is just honestly, good food. it’s not fake overly salty processed vegan; it’s home style vietnamese. comparable to vihn lo tofu in LA and my fav spot in downtown san jose. 5/5 for food.

also- I love that they have a deli style case- makes choosing your dish a no brainer. which can be very convenient for a first time customer or someone new to the cuisine and terminology.

Also!!! the drinks. in a fridge you can see then they add the ice etc. the green tapioca in coconut was heavenlyyyyyyyy.

it’s a small place fyi not for big parties unless you eat outside in the picnic tables in the courtyard.

I wish I discovered this gem sooner!

also- it’s worth the trek from disney or universal if you are just visiting. def better than even the plethora of vegan options...
