It is normal to taste different ice cream flavors to determine which one to order. As the lady handed me a 4th sample she told me policy is only up to 4.
Ma’am you are serving unique flavors. I wouldn’t know what half of these flavors are if I was not filipino. Have a sign up or something.
I was going to place my order already if she didn’t say that. She could have waited maybe 5 more seconds. There was no line behind us.
My boyfriend and I ordered 6 scoops (flight) and 3 orders of halo halo. In addition to the merchandise, ice cream scoops, and drinks our family bought as well.
It was good that I decided to taste the mango float because I was supposed to order it but I didn’t like it. In this economy, I am sure no one would like to waste their money on a flavor they do not prefer.
The server’s name is Ayla. Other servers were trying to reason out as well. Giving me the side eye as she was making an order (she had her hair up in a green clamp). Like I said earlier, if only she waited 5 more seconds, I was going to give the 6 flavors.
“We were trained to say that” May I suggest saying “Have you decided your 6 flavors?” Or like “we have unique flavors and you are welcome to sample up to 4 flavors to help you decide” Doesn’t that sound better?
In the end, I was talking to a lady wearing black glasses regarding where and who is the manager, long story short, she kept saying I can’t have her number.
I NEVER ASKED FOR HER NUMBER. I said in the beginning, “can she call me”. Not “can I call her”. she told me to just email her and if it’s too busy, to just DM in Instagram. I even offered to leave my number, lady wearing black glasses refused to take it and just asked for my name and pretend scribbled it on the ecounter. (She didn’t have a notepad or pen, she said she has good memory)
This review will probably just be another review that the management will not care about. It wont stop any customer from coming in (which is not my goal, we believe in supporting small businesses) Just trying to give...
Read moreI had the absolute best time discovering Sampaguita Ice Cream in Orlando—this isn’t your average ice cream shop. It’s a love letter to Filipino flavors, served up in the most creative, heartwarming way. From the moment you step inside, you’re wrapped in this cozy, tropical vibe—lush leafy wallpaper, soft pastel colors, and a welcoming energy that makes you want to stay a while.
Let’s talk flavors—because wow.
The Pineapple Cake ice cream (pineapple cake batter ice cream with macerated pineapple and cherry compote swirls) completely stole the show for me. It was this perfect combo of sweet-tart pineapple, soft cakey richness, and just the right amount of indulgence. It somehow felt both nostalgic and totally unexpected. Light, bright, and seriously addictive.
And then came the Ube Macadamia Nut Cookie. Listen—this thing was a revelation. Soft, chewy, nutty, and packed with that deep, earthy ube flavor I love. I could’ve eaten a whole box.
There are so many other unique flavors I didn’t get to try (yet), but I’m already planning my return just to taste the Soy Sauce Butterscotch—brown sugar and vanilla ice cream with umami notes of soy sauce and a hint of Maldon salt. I mean, how wild and amazing does that sound? And the Keso Guava Cheesecake is also high on my list: mild cheddar cheesecake ice cream swirled with homemade guava preserve and cinnamon graham crunch? Yes, please.
They also serve Filipino desserts like halo-halo, which I didn’t have room for this time, but it’s officially on the list for next round.
The ice cream itself is ultra-creamy, clearly made with intention and care. Every scoop feels like it was crafted with love—and the staff? So friendly and down-to-earth. They let us sample a few things without rushing us, which made the whole experience feel personal and relaxed, like hanging out in a friend’s kitchen.
Final verdict? Sampaguita is a total gem. If you’re in Orlando and want something different, something that tells a story and tastes amazing, do yourself a favor and check it out. Grab the Pineapple Cake scoop, don’t miss the ube cookie, and save room—because those soy sauce and keso cheesecake flavors are calling my...
Read moreI was out with some friends, chowing down on some delicious Asian food around Mills 50, and we wanted some dessert. Luckily, this place just opened up, and the attention and the hype was palpable in the Orlando air, so we had to check it out.
It's a cute little shop, with very limited space for seating, but they did a good job with the limited space they do have. Beautiful, IG-worthy stuff everywhere you look. A lot of style, but was there substance?
Yes. Very yes.
When you walk into an ice cream shop, and you see over a dozen flavors, you want to try all those flavors, right? Obviously you can't, or else society will reject you, but Sampaguita lets you come pretty darn close with their six-scoop flight! I saw that and my face became that emoji with the hearts for eyes. You know the one.
So I obviously jump on that.
I don't remember what flavors I got because it was so long ago, forgive me, but I remember two of the flavors I had.
Champorado (Dark chocolate ice cream with chocolate covered puffed rice crunch and sweet condensed milk swirl) and Soysauce butterscotch (A brown sugar and vanilla ice cream with umami notes of soy sauce and a hint of Maldon salt).
Bangin, bangin flavors. Dark chocolate with that deep cocoa flavor, lightened up with that sweet condensed milk. It was like a yin-yang. So good. And that Soysauce was not a hard taste on the tip of the tongue, that's all brown sugar. It's that nice, umami note that hits the back of your tongue that make this not just an ice cream flavor, but an ice cream experience. Very nice.
The other four flavors were good, too. It's just that too much time has passed. But my only critique is that the serving vessel that the flight comes in was way too shallow and way too cramped. All the flavors touch and mix and mingle, and if you don't eat it all with some fervor, it will melt all over your table. So be aware.
Overall, I was very pleased with my visit here, and I can't wait to return to try all the...
