I have been going here since I was a kid and lived in Ormond beach. I moved to Michigan, but every single time I visited or moved back to Florida, I would stop in to get my pizza. I lived in Land O Lakes and then the Keys during my mid 20s and stayed at the Outrigger on the beach in my early 20s and yes...no matter where I was in the state, I'd drove over to get my fix. Several times while there. I started going there 46 years ago (78-79 I cannot remember) and if I don't move back permanently, I will stop by for my favorite pizza on earth. A LOT!!! Get this... The owner recognized me when I came for spring break, called me by name, and this was 6+ YEARS AFTER I WAS LAST THERE... AND EVERY TIME SINCE. I could not believe he remembered me from being a kid... Who came back a young man... Then a grown man.

I have not been back to Florida in far too long... (The whole family thing and stuff) But I do want to get back there... for good. Anyways... I took all of my friends there for spring break in 86 and they all still stop by when in Florida for the pizza and samiches.

I just hope they didn't change the recipe, because...

This place is a wonderful, glorious, semi- not so well kept secret, for the absolute best NY RUBEN SANDWICHES, and subs in the 4 county area. I've been a patron for 30years. It is well worth the travel....quantity, quality, and taste. A family establishment not driven by decor, or table service but friendly (courteous), fast- though very busy, correctly made to order service..no fake smiles but genuine glad to see you/thanks for your business. The daily specials rotate and still very filling though slighly less than gargantuan like the regular size. Also try the sunshine salad, greek salad, canned & bottled drinks ( no fountain drinks), chips and homemade desserts- think heavenly authentic baklava. They also do party sized foods. Alas 😢 no delivery service😪😪😪. But welcomes group orders just ensure you give this spectacular place enough time, since every is made to order and mine is one of them.😃 It's small with only pick-up and 4 outside tables. (I always grab some kraut and pastrami off the huge sandwich before driving away with a smile and gleeful anticipation of...

Is one of my favorite places for a quick lunch or take home dinner. Two slices of cheese or peperoni pizza and a soda is an every day all day special. George's homemade marinara is different, but very good, and I begin to crave its special flavor. Excellent buttery medium thick crispy crust, and the right proportions of cheese to sauce to crust. Then there is a daily all day sub special, and a day of the week sandwich specials. Subs and sandwiches are piled high with top of the line fresh ingredients and daily sliced deli meats, on various fresh breads. Now to my all time favorite; their Greek salad with house dressing, my mouth is watering just thinking about it, and I have one I just bought today. Crispy lettuce, plenty of meats, olives, covered with feta cheese that's not too salty or dry. Top of the line again. And don't skip their home made deserts, the baklava is traditional...

This place hasn't changed a bit in 40 years...I'm not exaggerating. My grandfather brought me here for "The best sandwich you'll ever have"...he got me the big 12" Combo Sub. It was the best I've ever had...then...and still is almost identical to the way it was that first time when I was handed a sandwich that almost feels like a football when they hand you that wrapped beauty. There is SO much meat on this thing (common denominator with their Reuban and Cuban)...it is piled on very thick. Get it all the way...which to me is a perfectly proportioned balance of fresh baked bread, multiple piles of MEAT and condiments that compliment the whole as greater than the sum of the parts. Thank You Mr Wich for a lifetime of destination worthy sandwiches

I had heard such great things about this place and it was our first visit. Sadly may be the last! My anticipation was so built up. My grandfather told me about how long this place has been around, 40 years now, and that the meat portion was huge. I had the Cuban and it was very good. It comes on ciabetta bread,a decent size and nice portion. My husband had the pizza sub and what a disappointment. The portion was so small for the price of 9.00. My hubby compared it to a long hot pocket. I am just in disbelief myself. The 2 slices of pizza for 5.95 was a nice deal so you would expect a decent size pizza sub.

I’m giving it 5 stars but it really should be 4.5 just because it lacks indoor seating (Florida gets HOT) and the few tables outside had paint that flakes off and sticks to your arms (which could fall back in your food). I got the King Combo which has a ton of meat. It was very good and kinda reminded me of a firehouse sub (that’s not a bad thing). SUPER filling. I did find it odd that the huge sub was not cut in half. I had to tear it apart. Not bad for a mom and pop sub shop but there is room for improvement, especially as it appears that it’s been around for a while.
