Chicken Salad Chick — Restaurant in Ormond Beach

I vacillated on making this post and only do so with the intention of helping the owners/managers as this really is a great place and my comments may be unpopular but I believe many will share my view. This place has turned into, for me, a special "treat myself" place due to the prices. It was pretty high before but yesterday I went and for a Turkey Club with soup and salad, with a soda, my bill came out to $17. The reason for this is that they have no implemented the famous "It's just gonna ask you a question", aka leave a tip, when you go to pay the already expensive-for-lunch meal. With all due respect, this place is pretty much fast food; you order at the counter, take a number, they bring the food and you clear your own table. Unfortunately, when asked, I don't like to refuse a tip for fear of disgruntled workers doing something to my food and the answer of "oh we wouldn't let that happen here" does not suffice. So you are putting the customer in an uncomfortable situation. I suggest that management look at their books and revise revenues as a would be willing to bet that they dropped significantly when the tip suggestion, starting at 15% as a minimum,...

I've heard of this franchise for years and finally went. I went on a Saturday afternoon about 12:30.

The staff at the Nova Rd at Granada in Ormond beach was very friendly and helpful of explaining their menu after hearing my companion and I comments about this being our first visit. They even offered samples to help our selection.

If you're looking for an option which seems more healthy than the usual burgers and fried chicken patties, try this place. I had the chicken salad blt sandwich with fresh fruit on the side. Overall, The chicken mixture was a tad dry for me but that is just a personal preference which did not detract from the overall taste.

The decor is more trendy / posh than the usual fast food restaurant. The dining area and restrooms were very clean. Expect to pay about $10 for a sandwich and side with a drink (separately) similar to the price of a "combo" at fast food chains.

I recommend this establishment as an alternative to the usual boring fast food chain and will go back again.

I came through the drive thru today (July 25)to order some lunch (around 1:30) and was greeted over the intercom by a male who was very pleasant to speak to while taking my order. I pulled up to the window and gave the young lady my money to pay. She told me my order would be out in a few. I waited for about 15 mins plus…. the young lady apologized for the wait. During my waiting period I’m going to assume it was the manager, was extremely rude to his employee that was running the window doing her absolute best. Instead of helping her and encouraging her he was talking to her as if she was nothing. I even told her to never let anyone talk down to the way he was. (The drive thru window was left open) I have worked in Ormond Beach in Hospitality for 10 years and I have NEVER let someone speak like that to an employee nor let a manager ever talk to me the way he was. He should have use his intercom skills the same way he does with his customers to his employees. Good management is the only way to have a good team.
