LOVED Seis Kitchen. Why the 4, not 5, stars? Well, I like refried beans (Seis uses the ‘progressive’ name of “smashed” pinto beans, I suppose to signal that they don’t use lard) with more taste. These are pretty bland, as refried beans go, and there is almost no salt in them. Seis does add some of that white Mexican cheese on top, the powdery kind, but it doesn’t add much flavor. Second, I had the grilled fish tacos … and they were as good as any I’ve had around here. But, what I compare them to are the fish tacos served at “Dukes” in Maui (and other locations) … which are the best ever, and are served with a kind of creamy sauce that makes the mahi mahi tacos sing. Seis’ fish tacos are very tasty, and presented well, but, again, a little bland; so they need to be amended with salt, pepper and some salsa. Which brings me to the salsa. Well. Hmmm. I had the mild and somewhat spicier salsa. Both of them are good, but the mild salsa is … well, since Seis advertises itself as serving food hailing from Mexico City (which is dramatically different, in general, that what most people. may think of as “Mexican” food) under that standard they are both superb. But, for my taste, neither salsa has sufficient ‘identity’, or I suppose “spice” (and certainly none of the traditional cumin or curry or cilantro that most “Mexican” salsa’s generally have … to really be memorable. Anyway, despite my little. nit picks, I absolutely love Seis, I love the atmosphere, I love how bright and airy is the main dining room, I love how the main dining room is big enough and sheltered enough from the West setting sun (the restaurant faces West toward Oracle Road) that you won’t have to bake in the late summer afternoon. Finally, if I were king and had all the money in the world, the only thing I’d change about the atmosphere is that I’d install polarizing windows. When you sit in the dining room facing the windows, the Sun casts a bright and intense glare inside off the chrome and high luster paint of the cars parked right outside, and that can blind the customers while they eat. THIS is a REALLY picky issue, and doesn’t just apply to SEIS, but to all the restaurants in this shopping center. Go to Seis, it’s a great place.

Always a great place to come get a cold drink and some great Mexican food! I normally have a margarita, but it was so hot in Tucson today that I decided to go with one of their infused waters. I tried the watermelon and it was delicious! ordered the guacamole trio for our table and wasn’t super hungry because of the heat. I ordered the mini chimneys which were enough to make a meal out of and they were very good. Despite the heat, there were people eating on the patio. We opted to stay inside and the air conditioning kept us nice and cool. Lots of families in tonight and there were plenty of places to sit. Our waiter was very attentive and brought me chips and salsa and water before the rest of my party arrived. Great service! But a few people sitting at the bar where they had three big screen TVs.

Bad experience. Had to repeat my order several times to the cashier. Keep in mind it wasn't busy, there wasnt anyone else in line. When we got our food, my order was wrong. I ordered a surf and turf burrito, but got a basic bean burrito. I was charged correctly after checking the receipt. Since the rest of our party was already eating I decided to try it. Probably the worst bean burrito I have ever had. It was basically a rice burrito with a scoop of quac at one end. It was extremely dry as well (being mostly rice). When we were wrapping up, all of a sudden they felt they needed to clear the plates and get in our way when we were trying to get ready to leave, which made it feel like they were rushing us out. Don't recommend.

Edit: (This place still has the ambiance of a bus station.) So two years ago I wrote the review below and I went there again tonight and have to report, things have NOT improved. This place would have gone out of business years ago but for the cooks. The food would get 5 stars except - the guacamole was made with over-ripe avacados - which is a big turn off for me. Other than that, the food was great, if not extremely mild. I wish they offered some spicy salsa but they don't.

OK, so the bad. First of all, they should call this "Seis Cafeteria" because that is what it is. You pay, order, AND TIP, up front. I did it again and ended up ANGRY that I did because service here is below sub-par. We waited what felt like forever for our appetizer and then watched it be delivered to the adjacent table. The waiter just set it down and left. We saw them all look at each other and one of us asked them if they ordered it. They didn't. So they handed it over. Then the waiter came out, confused, asking them about their "double orders" Nope. They pointed our way. He came over and said "thank you" for letting him know that it was our order. He did not apologize. He then delivered HALF our order and said "am I missing something?" Umm yeah. Like our other appetizer and other half of our order.

I would have ordered another drink if anyone had asked. I would have liked to have our appetizer dishes cleared away when our main dish arrived. I would have liked MY order delivered to me. I would have liked to have a KNIFE to go with my fork. I'm sorry, the food is pretty good, but this place sucks.

Oh, and one more thing. You walk in, wait in line forever and have no menu to look at. Come to find out there are about 30 of them at the register. I handed them back to my fellow diners who thanked me. If only the staff thought of it :-|

Like I said. This place sucks. Go to El Charro. You'll pay less, get better food, and amazing service. I don't know why this place doesn't get a clue.

This is a place where you order at the counter and they bring you your food. I've been to the two other Seis Kitchens in Tucson and this one is the newest with the least experienced and least professional staff. I recommend not tipping up front when you pay. Wait to see how it goes.

We found the person taking our order to be rude although I don't think rudeness was intended; just clueless as to their behavior, demeanor, and way they spoke down to my wife. (She was very put off.) Also, even though it wasn't busy, none of the tables were clean. If you want your water filled you have to go do it at the bar.

Food was quite good though portions small for the price. I was a bit surprised that the shrimp tostadas had COLD shrimp on them. That was weird but they were still good. Tostadas were slightly larger than an old school silver dollar. So . . . tiny. Beans...

Always enjoy the food at the location near Sullivan's as well as in Oro Valley but I will not go back due to horrible customer service. Right now there is a tall thin guy with dark hair and a plaid long-sleeve shirt with his sleeves rolled up partially staring at his phone and texting constantly. I got the impression he is in charge maybe the manager but what a poor choice for someone to represent the face of your location. There was only one couple in the restaurant other than me when I arrived. The "Guy" stood at the front counter the entire time I was there which was way longer than it should have been to wait for a breakfast where there was no one else in the restaurant and only two people came in for carry out orders while I was waiting. He never looked up from his phone the whole time I was there. So now it's been over 20 minutes what time is 9:45 I haven't gotten anything or any communication and the guy is still at the front counter texting away staring at his phone. I'm getting ready to leave. I just left the guy never looked up I've been here like half an hour and I have an appointment to go to and I don't want to eat somewhere where someone doesn't care. I did leave and once the pending or charge shows on my credit card I will dispute it because I got nothing except aggravation for the probably 45 minutes now this total little stopped to get a cappuccino which they didn't have so I ordered a coffee which was horrible and bitter and I ordered breakfast which I really didn't need and didn't come anyway. The guy before me who got his carry out looked very annoyed like he had been treated like I had been they're probably waited a lot longer. How frustrating to not be treated with just a teeny bit of respect. Or even...
