As someone that drinks a lot of beer and appreciates the way that beer can re-invent itself over and over again, I highly recommend Fifth Ward in Oshkosh. I can't profess my love enough of this place and I waste no time in sharing it to anyone and everyone I know that will listen. I'd consider myself a "regular" at this point and keep coming back because: awesome and attentive staff- Andrew, Anna, and Katie are friendly bartenders that make you feel like family. They're attentive to everyone that walks in the door and enjoy what they do. Ian and Zach- the owners, are two of the most laidback and hard-working guys you'll meet; they take an enormous amount of pride in their work and their business. Genuinely, they care about their customers and their feedback and they truly find pleasure in bettering their beer and coming up with the next best recipe we will all enjoy. You will not find the same beers routinely on tap here as they keep the selection unique and interesting based on season. In closing, they do A LOT of different beers REALLY WELL. Personally, I think their sours and sweet beer (though I'm not even a huge fan of these beers in general) are the best you'll find around (they've made me a huge fan)... but on the other spectrum, they make some impressive stouts too. This just shows their knowledge and range as they continue outdoing themselves. Truly, I love this place, the atmosphere indoors and outdoors is so chill and inviting and if you haven't visited yet ... go make a trip!! You won't be...
Read moreMy wife and I started checking out Fifth Ward beers after we bought one of the Pibber Jibber (peanut butter and jelly) beers at Wagner Market kind of as a joke because we thought it would either be great or disgusting. It was actually one of the best thinks either us have ever drank. Now they are our favorite brewery by far. If you like the more adventurous, out of the box type of beers like fruit sours, this place is as good as it gets. The current Raspberry Pie beer they have on tap today is hard to explain how good it tastes. It's not even very sweet at all, its got like a nice graham cracker taste and you can taste the spices almost as much as you can taste the fruit. So damn good. Also if you go to the tap room the service is extremely friendly and down to earth. I wish we wouldn't have waited to check this place out...
Read moreI love this brewery. They are really well known for their fruited sours and IPA’s but those are not my thing. There is a huge variety of beer here at all times constantly rotating stock and to-go 4 packs/ crowler/growlers, i really enjoy their porters, stouts, and ambers. There really is something for everyone, even my dad, who basically only drinks bush light enjoyed some of their lighter beers.
They have an outstanding patio set up that they use for events and live music in the warm months that is doggo friendly.
They even have a large rack of games with complementary popcorn if you want to bring young ones or just enjoy playing with...
