Yesterday night (Monday 11/13/2012) I ordered from Big Burrito. My order included 1 pulled chicken burrito, 1 ground beef nacho's, and 2 churros. The total came out to somewhere around $22, which is fair, considering that they usually aren't skimpy on their food.
Well, while placing the order, the woman I talked to told me the food with be there in a bout a half an hour... after an hour of waiting, I called them and asked if they had forgot about me and this time I talked to a different woman who was snappy & short on the phone who informed me that the driver had JUST taken my food out to me. Patiently I waited another 15 minutes before receiving the food. I paid for it and tipped the driver fairly (which I regret doing) and proceeded to open my food. To my surprise, the box that I had ordered my nachos in and all of the sauces they include with every order, was covered in an orange slime that my coworkers and I determined must've been grease mixed with taco seasoning. After removing most of it from the sauces and my box, as to not make a total mess all over everything, I opened my nachos to find that my entire dish was cold and soggy. It also appeared that the driver had played hacky-sack with my order because it was everywhere and spilling out of the box. I managed to get a few bites of it down before deeming it inedible.
My coworked, who had order the pulled chicken burrito, also couldn't finish hers complaining that it was cold and tasteless. Finally, we opened the churro's which, despite how terrible everything else was, were good.
Needless to say, I called them to tell them what had happened and they told me that the manager wasn't in and that I'd have to call back later. Disappointed, I went hungry and frustrated. I will never order from Big Burrito again, and I will also be informing my friends and as many people as I can about how terrible my service was. I highly suggest finding another source for your...
Read moreBig Burrito has excellent food. I grew up in, Kalamazoo and remember eating there many times in the, 90's and early, 2000's while going to college and then there after. I now work & live in, Indiana. There's another great, Burrito restaurant that I've enjoyed eating at ever since moving to, Indiana. There first location was in, Kettering, Ohio, back in, September of, 2011, and they've now got, 70 locations. Most locations are located in, Indiana & Ohio. There's few in far out locations, like, Alabama & Rhode Island. I guess you're wondering why and who cares about a, Burrito restaurant that's not located in, any city, in the state of, Michigan ? Because it's on its way. They have locations just south of, Michigan's border. Now when they get to, Michigan's cities, like, Kalamazoo, Lansing, Detroit, Grand Rapids, then will loved by just as many people there as they are in, Indiana & Ohio. They won't put, Big Burrito out of business, but they will take a large portion of there business like, Hot n Now did to, McDonald's,Burger King, & Wendy's in the mid, 80's. I mean, 70 locations in only, 13 years... they gotta be doing something right. Once it's near, Western Michigan University it'll take over and become the most loved and favored restraunt for, taco's & burrito's in, West Michigan. No longer will it be, Big Burrito, but it'll be, Hot Head Burrito. Definitely, Hot Head Burrito. The best taco & burrito joint to eat at. Fast, quick reliable service, and not to expensive. Look for it, Kalamazoo... It's coming in like a tornado and will be there...
Read moreI ordered a kids burrito steak and grilled veggies. Online all it says when there is veggies is grilled veggies you would assume this means bell peppers onions and maybe a few other things but I would not assume broccoli mushrooms and zucchini to be what was placed of my burrito. When I called the phone to ask for a refund the only offer I was given was to drive all the way back and possibly get it remade. While I was on the phone the man was also extremely rude assuming I have already ordered from here when I have never as well as being extremely condescending.
I would just like to say Big Burrito has made up ten fold. I was contacted by the owner, Willard and I received the kind offer to try their food again. He also informed me that they are making efforts to better their online ordering and took total accountability for the situation. When I arrived to get food I was greeted by a very kind worker as well as the owner. I was given loads of different foods to try as well as told the amazing story about their chef they have had for 25 years. I am leaving part of my review up to show that Big Burrito fixes their mistakes and really does care about...
