My wife and I met someone for a Craigslist transaction at the BP next door and after it was finished I saw the marquee advertising the Flavor of the Month, Chocolate Covered Strawberries and said to her, "We're gonna get a shake."
For starts, I understand that sometimes flavors and or the delivery of the combinations of flavors can be lost when creating it into a shake format so that is not my sole rating on it. The shake and flavor was very uneventful for us. It didn't seem awesome, nor did it seem horrible, just there... A vanilla shake with bits of strawberries and chocolate mixed in it. I'm not criticizing the flavor itself since I honestly don't know how it's presented in ice cream format. If it is vanilla ice cream with just bits and pieces of strawberries and chocolate in it like the shake format, then, mlewww... Again, I'm not putting the flavor down but I'm not praising it either.
We also got an order of onion rings since I've always been a fan of Culver's onion rings but NOT this time!!! They were dry and old, tasted stale and unsalted, burnt to nearly a crisp and only a few pieces had a decent amount of onions inside at all. If I had to guess, I'd say they were already cooked, have been sitting around a bit too long and thrown back into the fryer for a quick little bit in an attempt to take away from the dryness and get them hot again and by doing so all the salt was removed, they got burnt and no one re salted them. I could be totally wrong, but I doubt it.
As for the rating I give and the reasons are as follows: Overall rating: 2 Stars for spending over $10.00 and getting poor food. Food: 2 Stars as the shake was not bad, but the O Rings were horrific. Service: 5 Stars as we went in the drive thru and were met with smiles and no unpleasantries. Atmosphere: 3 Stars. it was clean outside and it is a drive thru so what can you really rate.
Would we go back? Probably not as we live about 20 miles away and were just in the area. Would I get this flavor of the month again?, Nope. Would I get onion rings again?, Yes I will, just not...
Read moreDO NOT COME HERE AS A DISABLED PERSON! THEY ARE ABLEIST AND WILL REFUSE TO WORK WITH YOU.
I had ordered through the drive thru, and also put in an Uber eats order for pickup to take advantage of a deal.
I asked if I could pick it up through the drive thru as I was ordering other items already anyways and had specified I was disabled and had a hard time walking. They agreed through the speaker, and I pulled around. Then at the window, as I was paying, they changed their minds!!! I even asked them why they couldn't just bring it out with the rest of my order as they'd already be walking out to my car anyway. All they said was "we don't make the rules" and that their manager said so.
I had to HOBBLE into the damn store while it was super busy and I was in pain. Then of course, the pickup process was extra obnoxious as they needed to SEE my phone, the MAP on the Uber app, and see me swipe the confirmation, which lo and behold was not working so I had to painfully stand there waiting for the app to reboot as they refused to give me my order without it!!!
I'm absolutely appalled at how awful this experience was as a disabled person. ALL OF THIS COULD HAVE BEEN DONE BY THE WINDOW OR CAR SIDE!!!!!!! Thanks Culvers for the additional pain and flare up since I had to struggle into your damn store and spend way more time than necessary standing there when I could see my order from the drive thru window.
SHAME ON YOU! I will be contacting corporate about this as well. No disabled person should ever have do...
Read moreThis Culver's was FANTASTIC! I have been to many a Culver's and this one out shines all of them. The drive-thur was packed, yet moved at a good pace. Our order was 2 double pretzel haus burgers, 1 ruben, 1 double bacon cheeseburger (no pickles), and family size onion rings. I was amazed when the order came out and the employee, verbatim, read off the entire order. I have never experienced that before! Check, check, check and double check! Astounding customer service! Now for the food ... Onion Rings were the perfect crunchiness (if that's a word). A tad bit lite on the amount in comparison to other stores. Double Bacon Butter Burger, no pickle was scrumptious! The whole sandwich was beautifully balanced. The flavor of the beef and bacon just sung because each accompanying ingredient wasn't heavy or over done. Absolute perfection. Pretzel Haus Burgers were good. Not spectacular, but just good. The bun was hearty, the cheese sauce and slice ... mmeh. There was an over abundance of onion. So much so that I couldn't distinguish the bacon at all. After each bite, it left me feeling like I just took a bite of an onion like one would with an apple. Good thing I like onions. Even for me the taste use way to strong. Ruben ... Hubby is eating that later. It does look toasty, yummy good. In summation, definitely worth the stop. Even if out its of the way, you need to visit this Culver's, where the customer...
