We went to this place twice but had food only once. First visit: Pretty place and positive vibes as you step in. Very friendly staff and great options to choose from. We ordered dry gobi manchurian(5⭐️), thatte idly(3⭐️- was very thick and gooey) and ghee karam dosa(5⭐️). Serving size is good and have decent serving size. Second visit: We couldn’t have anything the second time we went as when we went first timr, we had asked about Jain preparations and they had said that you can talk to chef and he will be able to accommodate- so we went there with family. As we sat to order and asked to call chef, they said he cannot come. So we explained that we need Jain food and asked them what options are available, they said only idly/ dosa with coconut chutney and no sambhar. Rest all options, chef has prepared base gravies and sambhar etc in advance and cannot make it. This was a huge disappointment!!!! We went to another pureveg Indian restaurant where we knew we have tonnes if Jain options. They need to include Jain options - without onion, garlic as there is a huge disappointment when you have a pure vegetarian facility but do not cater to people with food restrictions and dietary restrictions. Most of the restaurants in the area cater to Jain and Swaminarayan options. Staff should be made aware of ingredients before they miscommunicate with guests.

Had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant. Mysore Bonda was perfectly crispy on the outside and delightfully fluffy inside, making each bite a treat paired perfectly with flavorful chutneys. Andhra Chitti Punugulu were golden and crispy, with a soft, flavorful center, while the Cut Mirch had the perfect crunch, packed with spice and tangy goodness! We tried Rajugari Jackfruit Biryani, which was aromatic, well-spiced, and absolutely delicious. The service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff ensuring a great experience. A unique highlight was the robot waiter, which added a fun and modern touch to the dining experience. Highly recommended for great food and a memorable atmosphere!

Idly Vada Bistro is a gem for South Indian food lovers in the Chicago area! I tried the Karam Gee dosa, onion pesarattu, punugulu, gobi Manchurian, idly, and vada, and everything was delicious. But the real star was the sambar—thick, flavorful, and truly the best tiffin sambar I’ve had in Chicago. They even serve it in a mini bucket, which no other restaurant around here does! The chutneys were tasty, the vada was perfectly crispy like homemade, and the punugulu was spot on. The gobi Manchurian had a unique, less saucy taste. Friendly staff and generous portions make this place a must-visit!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a pure vegetarian restaurant that truly exceeded my expectations

Ambience: From the moment I walked in, the ambience set the tone for a delightful meal. The interior was tastefully decorated with a calming color palette, comfortable seating, and soft, ambient lighting that created a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. The subtle background music added to the overall charm without overpowering conversation.

Food – The Veg Thali: The standout of the meal was undoubtedly the Veg Thali. Each component was a celebration of flavor and freshness. The thali featured a well-curated selection of dishes that balanced traditional spices with innovative twists. Every dish was presented beautifully, making it as pleasing to the eye as it was to the palate. The harmonious blend of textures and flavors in the thali not only satisfied my hunger but also left me eager for my next visit.

Overall Experience: This pure vegetarian restaurant proved that excellent food and an inviting atmosphere go hand in hand. The care and attention to detail—from the decor to the delectable Veg Thali—created an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you’re a committed vegetarian or simply appreciate quality, flavorful meals in a serene setting, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

In summary, the excellent ambience combined with the extraordinary Veg Thali makes this pure vegetarian restaurant a must-try for anyone seeking both comfort and...

If you're on the hunt for the best Indian vegetarian food in town, look no further than idly Vada bistro This gem of a restaurant brings the rich, vibrant flavors of India to life with every dish — no meat necessary.

From the moment you step in, the warm aromas of spices like cumin, cardamom, and coriander set the stage for an unforgettable meal. The ambiance is inviting — a tasteful blend of traditional Indian decor and modern comfort, with soft lighting and soothing music that complement the dining experience perfectly.

The paneer butter masala was a standout: creamy, tangy, and perfectly spiced, with cubes of fresh paneer that melted in the mouth. The vegetable biryani offered a burst of flavor in every bite, with perfectly cooked basmati rice and a fragrant mix of vegetables and herbs. The garlic naan, crisp on the edges and fluffy in the center, was the ideal vehicle for mopping up every last bit of curry.

Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu and happy to recommend options based on your spice preference or dietary needs.

Prices were reasonable given the generous portions and high-quality ingredients. Whether you're a long-time vegetarian or just exploring Indian cuisine, idly Vada bistro is a must-visit.

Delicious, authentic, and satisfying — the best Indian vegetarian food...
