I frequented this establishment several times a week for years. I finally confronted the Owner Mark about his Illegal practice of credit charge surcharges for a customer using a debit card. A debit card is the same as cash. Merchants do not pay a percentage of a sale, unlike a credit card. He informed me that he does 15 million dollars worth of Business, with 90 percent being credit or debit cards. He also stated that he does not look at his statements from his credit card processor. And that this practice I’d perfectly legal. SORRY MARK, Perhaps he should! Here is the federal law regarding this

Reason: The Durbin Amendment of the Dodd-Frank Act set a cap on debit card interchange fees to reduce costs for merchants. Credit vs. debit: These rules apply to debit cards specifically. The ability to add a surcharge is a separate issue that only applies to credit cards under certain conditions. How it works: Even if a debit card is run as "credit" (without a PIN), it is still legally a debit card and cannot be surcharged. Merchant options: Instead of adding a surcharge, businesses can choose to absorb the processing cost, increase their overall prices, or offer a cash discount. The fines for this are Substantial, This has been reported to the Illinois attorney General, and to Visa. He is stealing hundreds of thousands from dollars from Customers. Because of this I was informed not to come back, lol I can drink beer and eat pizza anywhere! He will be investigated, he will pay massive fines. And perhaps learn to never screw customers.

From initial impressions, the restaurant is clean and modern. The disappointment comes in at what seems to be just the overall operations. The waiter had a full section and definitely was not the most attentive. The wings seemed old and like they were reheated (the appetizer) and the waiter not once asked how was everything. The mozzarella sticks came out with salsa instead of marinara. When we brought it to the waiters attention she laughed and then got the correct condiment. They never came to clear off the table from the appetizers and the runner proceeded to just cram a large pizza onto a dirty table. We then received our pizza order, after a 35 min wait (normal time frame), and it was incorrect. I wanted a pepperoni and sausage pizza with half green peppers and onions. I will accept partial blame as it could have been the way I ordered . But after I explained that my 2 year old refuses to eat the toppings because they put onions on the side that was supposed to be just meat, the waiter only offered to comp half the pizza. I would have gladly returned the pizza as it was something my family could not enjoy. Even after she boxed the unwanted pizza, it took 20 mins before she walked over and asked “would you like the bill”

All in all I was highly disappointed in this local establishment and will not be back
