First stop at Cowboy Jack's in Elk River and above average experience. Service very good by our waitress who was personable and friendly. We ordered a few of their appetizers including chicken wild rice soup, their mini tater tot hot dish casserole and sloppy joes. Both my guest and myself liked the soup and sloppy joes. Each had good flavor and was very filling. On the other hand the hot dish was good but in our estimation they put too much spice to make it a bit hotter and messed it up. Minnesota hot dish should be flavorful but not overly spicy. Good off-street parking and nice outdoor patio for dining. Spacious bar area to have a drink and watch a sporting event on one of its large screen TVs. Would come back again if I'm the Elk River/Otsego area

Very period establishment. Big stressed wooden structure and decor. Very dimly lit inside with lots of neon lighting mixed with old time western lanterns and photographs. Lots and lots of people speak to it's popularity as a "hang Out". As for the food it was good but really nothing to crow about. I had the Jacks sloppy Joe Which was a pile of juicy ground beef with a very bland barbecue sauce on a plump bun and sweet potato fries which were limp, minimally salted and void of any flavor. A nice barbeque sauce at the table would have corrected that problem The service was friendly, professional and quick, it was lunch time.

Went with my family. Oldest son and his family visiting from out of town. We were a party of 8 with a toddler. Our server was Jazmin. She did a wonderful job. Very attentive and paying close attention to the detail for all of us. Was always on the go for our refills, getting our appetizers and food. Asked how everything was and paid close attention to taking care of our party. Manager stopped by a few times checking to see how everything was for our table. The food was great between the appetizers and the entrees we ordered. Loved the environment of the outside patio and setup of the bar. Highly recommend.

Good service, I was hoping for great! Was not super busy for being a weekend evening! I was pleasantly surprised!! We did have a little bit of a wait to get seated, but, only about 20 minutes or so but, that’s because we had a party of 5 with one person in a wheelchair and one child so we could not sit at the bat or a high top table and had to wait for a table to fit us and our needs! Once seated it took another 20 minutes or so to get a server! Too long in my opinion. Our server was very friendly and kind! She took our order and said she would be right back with my drink She asked pink or no pink when someone would order a burger! All said no Pink! My mother in law ordered a patty melt no pink and I was first floored when it was served to her with extremely burnt bread! It seriously looked like bread shaped charcoal! That’s how burnt it was! Then her burger was pretty punk inside so she sent it back and 2 Another 15-20 minute go buy before a replacement meal was brought back to her! At first sight it looked like it was going to be okay because at least the bread was recognizable ! Then my mother in law started eating the burger and as se got near the center it was hot pink in color and when she cut the rest of the burger in half I swear it was even worse than when she originally sent it a kind it was a bloody red color and when She showed the waitress she could hardly believe it herself! And then drugged it off by saying well we already took it off the bill so do you want me to have it remade again? No but how about comping the next of our check 20/30% is what I was thinking since we had already been there over an hour and my in-laws had just flown in from Switzerland the evening before, we were all very tired and were ready to call it a day ! So my father in law just paid for our check and we left I’m sure they stopped somewhere to grab a quick bite to eat for my mother in law on the way back to their hotel ! I will never take anyone else there or refer it to any...

We have been to this particular Cowboy Jack's location several times in the past. This time was certainly different and most likely our last visit. Seated quickly and server took drink order and returned with drinks quickly. We waited about 25-30 minutes on food. While we were waiting, we were constantly fighting flies. Others in the restaurant had placed napkins over their drinks to keep the flies out. They had the patio/bar window open and all of the flies were coming in. When the food arrived, it was room temperature, at best. The New York Strip was bland. The seasonal vegetables were cold...not room temp, but cold. The person delivering the food seemed agitated that we asked for ranch that was ordered with the meal. Our server finally came by to check on us and refill empty cups when we were half finished eating. We mentioned the problem with flies and he stated "Yeah, sometimes they get pretty bad in here." Received bill and were overcharged asked for that to be corrected and he seemed offended by that. Plus, when did they start charging for ranch for chicken tenders (when he offered a dipping sauce) and butter for baked potatoes? Anyway a $75 bill for warm/cold food while fighting flies. I can only imagine the number of flies landing on our food in the kitchen. If I would have wanted to fight flies I would have sat on the patio...

Stopped in the establishment because traffic was back up at that exit. Left and forgot my girls jacket. Tried calling multiple times for a few days but no answer. Drove back and ordered a drink and ask about the jacket, very kindly and nice. You would think I killed the bartenders cat or something. Holy crap! Just compete anger and rudeness. I left in shock. She told me "I don't know what to tell you Dude" in a very angry tone. I was never rude or pushing about it just asking if they had a lost and found. I still left her a 4 dollar tip not sure why? I'm a 60 year old man trying to get my girls jacket back that 100% was there. A guy sitting there said she had taken it home? I don't know if he was serious but they were definitely friends. It was a name brand expensive jacket. I know its my fault for leaving it but why be a rude bully. . Everyone else there was very very nice. Makes yah wonder if she did take the jacket and didn't know how to react except with anger. Won't be stopping in again no matter how bad traffic is. I can't stand Rudeness or bullies. I gave her my business card and told her I will give a $100 reward for the jacket. Place could be fantastic but I'll never know because of of one really...
