Denny's — Restaurant in Otsego

Ate there on Thursday. This place went down hill super fast. Itis very clean inside. It took 20 minutes to be seated and only four tables were being used. They put a wall up u fortunately the staff couldn't see when people come into the building. Then it took another 20 minutes before they would come to take the order. They did have plenty of workers working that was not the problem. The food was just ok. We both ordered a beer. Both of us were over 70 with gray hair. Obviously not under age. I understand the importance of carding to make sure everyone in is legal but sometimes it's just plain obvious and be as that point it turns into total disrespect to the customer. Then when we went to pop ay the bill same problem no one would come and check us out. Had to go back to the kitchen and ask for a person. The final disaster was were were going to pay with a 50.00 gift card from Denny's that that store sold two days prior. The restaurant could not get the card to work. After 30 minutes of attempting they finally tried giving us a new gift card. That one didn't work again neither. This is absolutely terrible. They are selling gift cards that will never work. It is a total scam beyond belief. Then they had the nerve to tell us to come back again for another meal. We are not going back . But we are turning this establishment in to be investigated. This is just plain wrong hands down. Please do not even attempt to buy gift cards from any Denny's. They don't work. This is fruad and...

I would give no stars if I could. I am a server in Elk River, and I have never seen worse service at a restaurant. Dennys has always had a place in my heart, but I will be not returning due to my last experience at the Otsego location. My friends and I were excited to enjoy some pancakes, but from the second we sat down, our service was awful. It took 15 minutes for our server to acknowledge us, and she seemed very careless. I decided to order food right away, and it took a while to come out. My chocolate milk tasted expired, and our nachos were left untouched because they were soggy. Our waitress never came back to check on us. We decided to leave, and paid for our food even though it never came to us. I was fine leaving, however when the waitress saw we were leaving, she sat next to us with her hands crossed and waited for us to pay. She said that we were unbelievable and proceeded to give us dirty looks. Then I asked to speak to a manager, Lori, and she was even worse. She explained to us that our service was great and didn‘t understand that we had somewhere to be. I asked to talk to her privately or separate from the server and she told me that wont be necessary. Ordered food from there for the first time and decided to do pick up so we can just take it back home. My first bite of my biscuits and gravy with two eggs sunny-side up meal, my eggs had a ton of egg shells in it. I called to let them know that my food had a bunch of egg shells in it as a heads up, I was not looking for anything free, any discounts or anything like that. I simply wanted to let them know to have their chefs be a little more careful. Personally, I'm a texture person and do not like stuff like that. I could even finish my meal after that. Anyway, when I called I was told that that was very unlikely and he doubted it would happen. The unprofessionalism of the person I spoke with on the phone was truly disappointing. He literally argued with me about how it went have happened. Because of that experience I won't be going back. I called to just give them a heads up and to be more aware when you're preparing food. As someone who's been in the industry I thought I was doing something nice. Instead they have no lost my entire family's business as we will not be going back in the future.
