Iâll start by saying the food is delicious but unless you have all day to dedicate to a dining experience, you may want to get carry out.
I added us to the waitlist at 8:20 this morning. I knew thereâd be a long wait as it is Motherâs Day. The app said we needed to check in with the host at 1:19pm. So we showed up at 1:19 and was informed by the outdoor hostess that it would be another 25 minutes. So we spent half that time in the car then the other half outside.
We finally get called (it is 1:50pm now) and the host asked if we needed a high chair, we said no that we needed a booster. She looked confused. We get sat at a table for two and she brings us a third chair instead of a booster. So we asked our waitress for a booster and she accommodated us quickly so Iâm not sure why the host was so confused about a booster seat?
We ordered drinks and our entrees. Iâll mention now that our waitress was great. She was timely and apologetic for the long wait. After some time a cook comes out of the kitchen to greet his family that was seated next to us and proceeded to scratch his balls in plain sight đ€ź
Our toddler is in full blown hangry mode at this point. We are desperately trying to keep him placated with m&mâs but this is no longer a pleasant Motherâs Day brunch.
It is 2:30 by the time we are served and whomever handed us our food (not our waitress) wonât leave us alone to eat. I donât even remember what she was talking about.
We even overheard the manager talking to the ball-scratcherâs family saying how great he is but honestly? If people are waiting almost an hour for their food, the managers need to be stepping up and stepping in to help. No wonder it took 5 hours to get a table.
Our poor waitress offered us a free pancake coupon but we left it with our payment because we...
Read moreThe atmosphere: 2 stars. There is no place to wait inside. We had to wait outside in the heat for 50 minutes. The music is way too loud. It was hard to carry a conversation.
The food: 3 stars. Meh. There are some interesting choices on the menu. I had the breakfast pot pie. It looks enticingly intriguing on the website. I found the gravy was a bit on the thick side and was not very flavorful. Wasn't that bad, but a bit underwhelming.
Value: 1 star. The price is about 20% more than the Big Biscuit (another of many chain breakfast place in town). At the same time, my kids liked Big Biscuits bacon and pancakes better. I personally think that Big Biscuits has a better sausage gravy. Snooze charges significantly higher price without producing any better food. I personally think its food is worse than both First Watch and Big Biscuit.
Complaints: I am used to having free refills on drinks...coffee, kid's juice, etc. Soonze charges you for the second glass of juice, which is O.K. if you makes it clear. The wait staff made it sound like a free refill, " you want a another apple juice?" Of course both my kids said "yes!" because that is what sounds like it at places that do offer free refills. It was the type of sugary juice from concentrate (non-fresh squeezed), and it was $4.20 a glass ...x2 glasses x 2 kidsx 9+% taxes ,+ 20% gratuity = $22+ đ±
There are many other breakfast options in Overland Park. I will only go again if a friend or family member really wants to go. Non of my family wants to go back, and I am posting this so hopefully my friends won't choose this place for their...
Read moreThis review is actually for my last two visits! Last month I came after my race and was glad we were able to sit outside! Atmosphere was great but the service was okay. Food was a little left to be desired. The server was kind at first, but when I started asking for recommendations, she got sort of quiet and barely checked on us the whole time. I ordered this sweet potato dish from the healthy menu because I love eggs and sweet potatoes together⊠but this dish was NOT it! If youâre a texture person, donât order it. The best way I can describe it is âmushyâ with no flavor. The only good thing about the dish were those pork bits? But unfortunately they only placed a few on the plate. Worst part was it all came out cold đ so that didnât help. The tastiest thing I had there was the toast and jelly off of my fiancĂ©s plate. Not exaggerating. Our server finally came to check on us toward the end, but didnât bother to remove our dishes. So I left feeling pretty unsatisfied.
The next time I visited was about a week ago, and the experience was better! This time we decided to sit at the bar. The bartender seemed busy, so there wasnât much interaction with us & it took awhile for us to order drinks. But our food came out quick and I enjoyed it better than my last visit. I ordered the avocado benny coupled with a caramel latte đ
Snooze used to be my favorite breakfast spot, so maybe this was just a bad couple bumps.. hopefully next time I can come back and...
