Hawaiian Bros Island Grill — Restaurant in Overland Park

I really love this place! The meat is always tender and tasty. Thank you for making it gluten free! I also love that I can make substitutions with the sides by getting vegetables instead of the macaroni salad or If I want to keep it low carb I can just have vegetables and no rice. The service has been great as well. Today I went through the drive-thru and the gal that took my order was just as nice as can be! The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because of the Pacific Island Salad. It was tasty however the lettuce was HUGE. I even had a few leaves that were big enough to put on a hamburger. The ones that were cut up were still giant and I felt like I was fighting with the lettuce with every bite. And, it made it impossible to stir my salad up. I got this through the drive-thru to go to eat in my car and I ended up with just eating most of the toppings. I'm not sure if this was a fluke thing or this is typical but the salad would be 100 times better if the lettuce was chopped up into bite size pieces to match the toppings. Aloha! I enjoyed a slice of paradise while staying in Overland Park for my cousin’s wedding. I had the Honolulu chicken and it hit the spot. I elected to sub out my macaroni salad for a pineapple skewer and found it to be succulent. Can’t do that at Wendy’s! I enjoyed the Dole Soft Serve and found it to be lighter than I expected in both texture and flavor, though the website describes it as low calorie so maybe it should be expected that it wasn’t as rich as an ice cream. I didn’t see the flavors posted anywhere, but I guess they have pineapple and a rotating flavor which was strawberry when I went. The Spam Musubi was pretty good as well, but I found the entree filling enough that I didn’t really need it. They also sold T-shirts for 10 dollars each- I didn’t get one but that’s a steal. This place has descent food but it is a nightmare to actually get your food. I went through the drive through. Waited 30 minutes to get to the window just to be told after ordering that they were just making a new batch and to park in the curbside spaces which were all full of door dash, people waiting for thier food or people who were eating in the restaurant but just decided to be idiots and park in the curbside spots. Hour plus later...cold food...my last trip there for sure. With so many options in that area I will look for better service. PS quessing they don't pay well and that is another reason that I should go elsewhere.
