Einstein Bros. Bagels — Restaurant in Overland Park

I've worked for einstein's in the past -- I love this company, and I understand the excessive workload that comes with lunch time. The people, in most of these locations, are real troopers for what they do.

That said, this establishment leaves much to be desired. I called to order a standard baker's dozen. The woman who picked up was very short with me, and kept talking to other customers with me on the line. Finally, she told me to hold for a moment then proceeded to have my wait for 15 MINUTES without pushing the hold button. That's an important detail, because the entire time I could hear every word being said among the staff and to the customers. Evidently the staff doesn't get along very well at this establishment, because I could hear them snapping at one another and accusing each other of playing 'mental games'.

It became so profoundly uncomfortable that I hung up and called back. It took me 5 times until I finally got someone on the line. I asked to talk to the manager, who kept apologizing for being short staffed. I tried to tell him about the uncomfortable situation and how they needed to be more careful when placing people on hold, but I don't think he really listened to what I had to say.

Although he apologized, he didn't ask me what my actual order was or what they could do to remedy my situation despite wasting 25 minutes of my time.

I was only going to be in the area for a visit, so I don't typically visit this particular Einsteins. Understand that my experience with the Einstein's in my area has been nothing but warm and fantastic -- this is not a reflection of Einstein's as a company, only of this particular establishment.

If I did live in this area, or if this were my first experience with Einsteins, I would...

Just left this location. Woman working the drive thru/taking orders with brown hair and glasses was EXTREMELY rude to me for zero reason. Before I could even order, she said " Uhm it's going to be a mintue until I can help you." Which is fine but I needed one, but the attitude continued through out taking my order, when I asked to switch the beverage I was ordering and apologized for switching she became irritated and made me aware that I was putting her out for switching items. Once I got to the window, she asked if I had a different sandwich as my order very curtly, I responded no and she slammed the drive thru Windows without saying anything and then asked what I had. I told her my order and informed her that she was being very rude, in which her attitude escalated and she told me she "wasn't rude" and that she gave me a large coffee "so that should make up for it." I told her it didn't make up for it and that she should probably be nice and friendly to customers if she's going to continue to work in the food industry. She then responded with " let me make sure this is even your sandwich, so I don't mess that up too." Never said sorry or anything. Will not return to this...

Glad all my food was stored and prepared in a space I could see because otherwise I would've been really concerned about hygiene. Both women's room toilets were unflushed and the bowls filled with poop. The women's hygiene recepticals were overflowing with pads etc. The sink didn't drain and the regular trash was also overflowing. An employee came into wash hands and use the mirror so I told her both the toilets were gross..her response "I'm on my break". Like girlfriend I didn't need you to hop on it that second but a "oh wow I'll get that taken care of" nd then take care of it AFTER the break would've been customer service 101. Out on the main floor, again literally all of the trash receptacles were overflowing. I left my trash balanced up on top of one of the piles. And yeah, though I saw three ppl working (not including the one on break), only one person appeared to be doing any thing. That might explain the wait time. Oh and the coffee was terrible. This would have been a two star experience with those two because of the menu choices and availability, but then I came up to 3 because they had onion bagels. Overall worst Einstein bros ever and...
