Tortilla Ranch Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Overland Park

I frequent TR very often, definitely probably way more than I should the food is great. Unfortunately the customer service is extremely subpar and poor. This will be my family and I last time visiting this restaurant. I love supporting locally owned businesses but the ladies that work here are rude every single time I come in the restaurant. Because we love it, I would ignore the less than unpleasant attitude of the employees, bad attitudes, rushed service. Today I ordered Nachos for my daughter the portions were definitely smaller than normal, I'm aware because we frequent often. The rude team member wanted to upcharge us on every single thing even the normal portions. We can go anywhere in Kansas for dinner but choose to come here. Today was it. The last chance was today. The employee threw a whole prepared dish away vs just adding chips on top.. We walked out mid ordering.. Just ridiculous. For quick Tex-Mex we will go back to supporting Chipotle. Today an employee let long-time customers preparing to spend over 80.00 on dinner walk out over a scoop of chips. Please get these employees some serious training! Tortilla Ranch - I really enjoy the flavor of the layered nachos -this is what earned them the 2 stars. Also the price is GREAT -on Thursday night—this is the special. However their customer service is Needs Improvement and they are VERY VERY stingy on the toppings and I am not just saying this ...they really only give a few sprinkles of everything ...unless you can convince the person fixing your nachos to add a little more of the toppings Otherwise they are skimpy on the toppings except sometimes they are generous with beans and lettuce. And sometimes they even skimp you on the tortilla chips at the bottom of the pan. They can be somewhat rude at times as well. I have gone here several times and maybe once was a really good experience. I only go here on Thursday and it’s pretty much the same dry customer service and skimpy layered nachos..but after me and my family’s last couple encounters don’t think I will go back any time soon. Although I like their food flavor better than other establishments similar to this, I am just going to return to the other Major chain similar to this and pay the higher price. Worst customer service ever! I asked for grilled chicken and was told they were out so I asked if they were cooking more and the girl with glasses said yes and I said I’d wait and come back to order and she rolled her eyes. Once the chicken was ready I ordered my food and asked for a side of guacamole. The African lady at the counter gave me a side from the fridge and I asked for a fresh scoop and she told me I couldn’t have a fresh scoop because they were busy and I then said I didn’t want the guacamole then. She went and told a guy who was also wearing glasses that I didn’t want it so he fixed it the problem and gave me a fresh scoop. As we were sitting down and eating the African lady was pointing at us while talking to the other girls that worked there and they were laughing. I confronted her and asked if she had something to say because I don’t appreciate her treating a paying customer that way and that the money we pay to eat there is the money that pays her bills. She told me if she wasn’t working she would have a lot to say and there would be a fight. I am pregnant! We will not be coming back here. This was only the second visit as well. Horrible...
