McDonald's — Restaurant in Overland Park

I think it's hilarious that I essentially rate every single McDonald's in town as a consistent one star. But I was super surprised to find that I hadn't rated this one because it literally is the worst McDonald's within a 5-mile radius of my house. But it makes sense because I refuse to go here. I will literally drive out of my way no matter where I'm going to get food somewhere else. Or I will just starve. But when I use the McDonald's app for delivery, it occasionally uses this location. Which it doesn't tell you it's going to do that until you've placed your order. So not only do you get the most disgusting food that you've ever had from any fast food restaurant ever, or any McDonald's ever but it's even worse because it was already served as a disgusting pile of garbage before it sat and waited for your driver to pick it up. So overall if you're from out of town and you're driving down the highway and you're wondering where to stop for food and you happen upon this review, I want to tell you first and foremost do not pull over. I know I've already said that about the McDonald's that claims to be 24 hours at Johnson Drive and i-35, but their main fault aside from bad food, is that they lie about when they're open. This location finally stopped saying they were 24 hours maybe about 2 years after they stopped being 24 hours. But what never ever existed was this place making a correct order or a fresh French fry. And you may think you have all the tips and tricks down to make sure you get a fresh order at a fast food place, but this place defies all order. It's almost as if they are in a long-running bet to see how long they can stay open. Which will probably be forever just because it's right off the highway. But I beg of you if you're driving South just go to 87th Street and go get Panchos. If you're driving north, I have nothing for you. There is nothing. There is nothing but more terrible McDonald's. Mildly better mcdonald's? Maybe? A really terrible denny's? Yes but still better than this McDonald's. I cannot think of one place on Earth that I wouldn't eat before I would choose this McDonald's willingly. I would eat the egg salad at a gas station before I would willingly eat at this McDonald's. I would eat 3-day-old grocery store Sushi before I would eat at this McDonald's. There is not one redeeming quality of this place. And if me telling you how much the food here is the worst thing that you will ever eat doesn't deter you, driving in and out of this location should scare you away. It's a pain to get into and a pain to get out of. You think you're just stopping off the highway real quick to grab a bite to eat on your vacation, no. The entry and exit do not make sense unless you have known them your entire life and you still hate them so much because of it. And all of us locals ignore the correct way because it's so incredibly stupid that you might wind up getting hit by someone who looks like they're driving like an idiot just because they want to avoid the idiocy of this location And even when they've remodeled over the years, that is one thing they have never addressed and is still pure torture. But again, none of it is as the food. I would gladly accept this unfortunate drive in and out of the location every single day of my life for my job or even to leave my house then to be subjected to the disgusting food this place produces. I just don't understand. I will never understand. I am talking about 30 plus years of not understanding. It's probably something about this specific corridor because the Sonic and Taco Bell on the other side of the highway are also the most disgusting in town. But I would rather eat at that Taco Bell or sonic any day of my life then ever be forced to eat this again. If you wanted to kidnap me and torture me, you would do it by feeding me with food from this McDonald's.

Side note to those wondering why I didn't mention Wendy's. I initially didn't because it sucks everywhere. But this is the only Wendy's in all of KC that I don't find...

The food was fine it’s McDonald’s so I know what to expect but the service is always seem to be subpar in the morning the service was horrid. I wanted to purchase extra syrup for me and my son‘s breakfast. Syrup is supposed to come with hotcakes and sausage already. I requested two extra syrups. I get out of line about to continue to my destination and realize that they’ve only given me my two syrups that I purchased, and not one that comes with the meal. I pulled back around to try and rectify the issue and I was told that they do not need to explain anything. I should know I need to learn and close the window in my face. All I I did not get my extra syrups that I purchased. They proceeded to tell me that I did not purchase them because they did not charge me for them even though I requested it and it showed up on the screen, Ivan said that part maybe should be explained more when someone makes an order. That’s when I was told I need to learn. The manager and the worker who assisted me were snarky and disrespectful. The workers name was Saidel. Nothing may come of this, but this is not the first time that I’ve had similar incidents at this McDonald’s this is the McDonald’s close to my home. This is the McDonald’s in my neighborhood that I want to continue to patron, but will not if I’m disrespected behind a request of syrup. I don’t know who will take time to read this. System didn’t pick up wife’s order and I even told him there were two “I can get my manager “

So the guy comes and says “sorry man it just showed youts but it u can have her send a picture of the confirmation I can fill it….”

My wife already had….so I said “absolutely and I understand as I’m sure people scam all the time …..so I show hi him the confirmation and he says “ok “ and turns to …I guess get the two fries

Well I was walking away to get our drinks and he must’ve thought I was out of ear shot and says “it’s only common f’ing sense ??!!!! (Actual f bomb )

I say nothing and fill the drinks he brings the fries and apologies…..as he turns away I confront him and ask “hey man did you just tell me your mistake in your system was to relate to “f’ing common sense to me …in a rude tone not a nice one if there were one you could say that way ……

He says “look man I got your order just please leave ….” I’m not being aggressive or anything and I ask him what his name is and who his manager is and he absolutely refused to say any of it let alone who his manager is and gets so unprofessional and irate I thought we were going to have a fist fight in the lobby.

Worst experience ever at a restaurant let alone McDonald’s. This guy made the company look so horrible.
