This was my first visit. The girl at the front who took our order had no motivation and presented to us an awkward uncaring vibe. She just had no people skills so to me it was sad that she was the first face of this establishment. She sat down and stayed on her phone. She did ask us if we wanted to eat inside or out and we said we would take a table right outside the door. I was surprised when she came to our table 35 minutes later with a to go bag. We said we ordered to eat here but she said they donāt serve the tables outside yet I saw everyone else eating at their table.
The pad Thai was exceptional just wish I wasnāt eating out of a box.
The salad served did not have all ingredients and was just cucumbers with dressing. It was bland because it was missing three of the ingredients listed on the menu. Very sad.
The chicken bao was dry and uneventful. I was thinking they would be soft.
The pot stickers were average.
I would also like to add that I saw people going inside and asking questions and then walking out as I ate my food. Perhaps more energy from the employee would...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreKai Asian Street Fare opened up a location in a our local food hall over here at Oviedo on the Park. Kai has been absolutely killing it for a long time, so this was very exciting for us. We had some sports to watch at home one Saturday, so we ordered some takeout as soon as the place opened.
I walked over there to get the food, and the inside stunned me. They do a lot with such little space! The striking black bar, the giant mural of a traditional Japanese town on the wall, the corner stall with a great big window looking out at greater OOTP. It's just such a pretty space.
Service was fine. They didn't kill me with kindness or anything, but they did the job just fine.
As for the food, it was good stuff, very similar to their flagship store in Winter Park. Egg rolls, good, dumplings, good, wings, really good, fried baos, decent, but you can skip them, if you're making decisions between items.
So, overall, I'm very glad for it to be here now, because those wings are some of the absolute...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were looking forward to this restaurant for the first time with a takeout order, but unfortunately, the experience didnāt meet our expectations. As soon as we walked in, we were pointed to a board showing only a limited amount of items available to order. No menu. We should have taken that as our queue to leave. When we picked up our order, right away, the tofu ginger dish had an off-putting smell, which made us hesitant to eat it. The curry ramen was so thick that it was difficult to enjoy with either a spoon or chopsticksāit had a paste-like consistency. The garlic noodles also had an unpleasant smell, and the cooked chicken lacked any sauce, leaving it dry.
At over $50, the portion sizes and overall quality felt disappointing. Based on this experience, we donāt see ourselves returning, but we hope the restaurant takes feedback into consideration to improve...
