I visited the Oviedo location last Friday for a day of papering and left with a less than stellar experience. I’d been feeling immense stress and anxiety as I prepared to begin a new job this week and thought what better way to prepare than to indulge in some self care.
When I called to make the appointment, I requested 10am (as offered by the staff). By the end of the call, I was asked to change to 10:30. Okay, cool. That’s no problem.
Upon arrival around 10:15 that day for my appointment (bamboo massage, facial, and back facial), another couple checked in after me but was taken back to their room before me. At this point, it was 10:35 and I still had not been taken back. The receptionist then came to tell me the bamboo was in a couple’s room and asked me to switch to hot stones. I told her no, that is not what I wanted nor what I signed up for. She walked away to possibly figure out what’s next I suppose.
I was finally taken to a room where my therapist walked in with a small piece of wood. I informed him that I was under the impression that it would be long bamboo sticks as presented in the images on the website, and that I was not comfortable paying for a service that I did not actually receive. He told me he had that one in his car. Together we went to the front desk and explained the situation, and again, I was asked to do a regular massage to which I declined because that was not what I came for nor wanted. I was told I could do bamboo next time. No.
The only solution was then for me to wait until 11:00 (so now an hour after the time I originally requested and half an hour after my official appointment). I obliged. You can imagine my frustration at this point and the stress I was feeling. It was my first time here and meant to be a relaxing experience, but it was anything but that.
During the massage service, my masseuse was attentive, however I was expecting an actual foot massage as part of the process since it was head to toe. This barely happened. I was informed that a reflexology massage is an option, but I was still expecting something to be done to the feet aside from hot towels. The same with the hands, they were not manipulated at all.
My back facial and regular facial were enjoyable experience as the esthetician was knowledgeable.
At checkout, there was no effort made to correct the situation that took place earlier. I still paid full price for my service, did not get what I expected, had to wait even longer, and I simply did not leave with a feeling of ease or refreshment.
Of course I would never go to a business and actively seek a discount for services provided, however, in this case, I do believe more could have been done for the inconvenience. I was then offered a membership package which I will not be taking part in based on this experience.
I reached out directly the day of service to the email on file to try to resolve the concern, but after a week, I still have had no response so I decided to share my experience as my concerns have gone...
Read moreFirst, I want to acknowledge the massage therapist and esthetician that did my services. They were great, especially Ruchana with the tension relief! I would have preferred if my esthetician explained to me what she was doing, but I didn’t speak up, so part of it is on me. She was knowledgeable and very relaxing.
The reason I am rating it 3 stars is because of the overall experience. To me, it’s about the entire experience - from the minute you walk in to the minute you walk out. I would have preferred more personalized service. Ideas for improvement: when a client walks in, greet them and review the services you booked, show them the restrooms and lockers, and allow them to change into the robe and sit in the tea room before their first appointment. This sets a very relaxing tone from the beginning. Instead, I walked into a noisy lobby with someone chatting with the receptionist, offered a refreshment, and pointed to the tea room.
I didn’t get offered to put my clothes into a locker until after my first appointment and in between appointments, I was told to sit on an uncomfortable stool in a narrow hallway where there were other people.
The actual services were relaxing but I just feel like the overall experience could have been elevated for more holistic relaxation.
I hope this feedback helps to improve the experience as I would love to make this a...
Read moreI cannot say enough amazing things about my experience at Allora Day Spa! As a mom of three, I kept putting off self-care, but I was gifted a certificate for my birthday and finally made time—and I am so glad I did!
Julissa worked magic with my facial. She wasn’t just sweet and kind, but incredibly thorough and knowledgeable. She explained my skin type in detail and gave me personalized suggestions on how to care for it moving forward. I felt like I learned so much during our session, and it was clear she genuinely loves what she does. My skin feels refreshed and glowing!
Geraldine followed with a truly fantastic massage. The pressure she used was perfect, helping to release tension knots in my shoulders and neck. She even used an invigorating essential oil that made the experience even more heavenly. Her attention to detail and care were beyond expectations.
This visit was everything I needed and more! I left feeling completely rejuvenated. Thank you, Julissa and Geraldine, for the pampering I didn’t know I needed so badly. I’ll be back for sure! Geraldine even mentioned the memberships they have which I will totally take advantage of!...
