Okay, Godfather's is without a doubt one of the most overpriced pizza chains in our market, but my wife and I grew up with it in Iowa and wanted to revisit a little of that old nostalgia. Unfortunately, our desires were met with extremely rude staff, an incorrectly made pizza, and an unbelievable experience trying to get our order corrected. We ordered a half veggie, half combo, and breadsticks. The kid that brought the breadsticks to our table didn't say a single word when he threw them on our table. And he then repeated the same level of service when he delivered our pizza to the table. As we looked at the pie, we were both asking, "Which half is which?" We could clearly see sausage on every piece. And as we poked around, we also found pepperoni on every piece. My wife took the pizza back up to the counter and this kid tried to convince her she was wrong. Flabbergasted, my wife said, "Okay, I guess I'll just pick around it." At that point, I returned the pizza back to the counter again while this kid ignored me for at least five minutes. When he finally came and spoke to me, I used my fork to show him that the pizza was made with meat on the whole pie. He finally asked if I wanted the pie remade and I said, "Yes, and please make the whole thing a veggie," as I didn't want to deal with this again and I wanted to make it as simple as I could for him. After this, we heard this kid and who I assume must have been the shift manager or the store manager screaming at each other in the kitchen about having to remake the pie for at least ten minutes. When he finally brought the new pie to our table, he again delivered it without a single word. Nobody, including the manager on duty, made any effort to speak to us, or offer any apology, refund, or coupons. So here's my advice for anybody reading this review. Don't waste your time or money with the Owatonna Godfather's. You'd be better off throwing a bag of Totino's Pizza Rolls in...
Read moreVERY SLOW service, uncaring staff, they did "clean" the place but it needs a ton of help, it is an uncomfortable place to eat, the carpet still is dirty and in some spots your feet "stick" to the carpet, the bathrooms are lacking basic essentials like soap. They have however repainted the walls, and ceiling, but it feels over all like it needs a new store manager. We ate there today and it took 45 minutes for a medium pizza, mean while the buffet was fully loaded with cold foods that were hot (lettuce was warm, and limp and pizzas were tired and old) our order was put on the back burner, the buffet itself is hit or miss, it really depends on who the cook is at the time. It just feels like the staff are only there for a pay check there is no positive emotion for their job and the service shows. Someone from corperate really needs to go in there as a customer around noon, and see what this Godfathers is truly like. :O( Its sad, this use to be my "go to" pizza joint, now its an avoid at all cost, your money would be better spent at the local Pizza Ranch where cold food is actually kept cold, and hot food is kept hot. AND Pizza ranch allows "to order" pizza on the Buffet, Godfather informed me "you will get what we serve. ... We do not allow "specific orders" ... $30 bucks down the drain for old, tired, and icky pizza.
Also, when you head to the bathrooms, DO NOT Look in the kitchen... depending on who is working, you will get sick with how nasty it gets back there. its hard for me to believe that this Godfathers is a sanitary, clean place.... :O( Sad but true.
You can repaint the walls, and ceiling, to make it feel clean, but if the staff is lacking so is...
Read moreThe guys were nice, but inattentive past their register. We walked in at about 12:40pm, in the middle of the lunch buffet deal. The place looked like it just finished up with a big rush, because there were used plates, cups, and napkins at almost every table, at first I thought this was a good sign, "they had plenty of business and now there's only two tables still here, buffet looks like it might have enough left ever for the two of us dining, but we're about to get some fresh Pizza, and quiet dining!" No fresh Pizza came. We finished the remainder of the small pizzas (a few slices) which must have been cooked an hour earlier, at least. 10 mins into eating, not one person had come to bus the tables, so who knows how long these dishes have been piling up. Maybe it was a technique, since they were short staffed, "if we don't clean the tables, the new customers won't have anywhere to sit, so then we don't have to serve anyone in here." 5 mins after thinking this, one customer who was there before us, a mother with 2 children, got up to complain about how there hadn't been a new Pizza brought out since she paid. She got her money back and took her kids, stopped at our table and informed us they haven't brought anything new out in 30 minutes, and only just then put something in the oven due to her complaint. We finished eating our dry old Pizza, and left our dishes on the table adding to the collective of tables needing to be bussed, by God knows who, cause I certainly didn't get to see who does that job. Wasn't a fan of godfather's to begin with, this meal left such a poor taste, I'm writing this a couple weeks later, and still remember most of...
