Lic's Deli & Ice Cream — Restaurant in Owensboro

We've lived in owensboro for a good 4 months. This place is right down the street from ours and we have been looking forward to going here for a while and would have been regular customers if it wasn't for our horrible experience. We came up to the drive thru and asked for a waffle cone with two scoops of cookie dough and sprinkles. They said they were out of waffle cones so i chose cake cone instead. They said they would have to put the sprinkles on the side i said that was fine. We then ordered a single scoop of chocolate in a bowl with sprinkles and the a banana split. They told us they were out of bananas and we said that was fine as well because we had just bought some from the grocery store. We get to the window, pay and the green haired teenager gave us two bowls. One of the single scoop chocolate with sprinkles and then the other was the double scoop cookie dough with sprinkles. I asked why mine wasnt in a cone and the teen said because i got sprinkles. I said i want a cone and to have the sprinkles put on the side, my mother who was driving held it out for them but they wouldnt take it. They just stared at us. This person did not want to fix our order at all. A blonde teen came over finally, fixed my order after 15 minutes of being in line i finally got mine and then they turned their back to the window like they were done. We called in the window several times before the blonde teen decided to acknowledge us. My mother asked where here banana split was. It was apparently sitting next to the window the entire time because she handed it to my mom and walked away so we couldnt ''bother" her anymore. The icecream was liquid at this point that she had to throw it away. These people acted like we were such an inconvenience to them when we just wanted a simple order fixed. We will never go here again and we will make sure any friends and family of ours know...

I hadn't tried the Lic's in Owensboro so on 8/24/2020 my husband and I decided to go get lunch. Well we both got food and shakes. I took a drink of my hot fudge Milk shake and it was like drinking white milk. It was gross. It didn't look like a form of ice cream at all. So I opened the lid and it looked liked it didn't have any chocolate at all. The shake looked like a vanilla shake. Well I asked if they could put another sqirt of hot fudge they told me no. I would have paid for it but they didn't even give me a chance to tell them I would pay the difference, it was a flat no. Well my husband got a strawberry shake and it was also gross. I threw mine away in front of them and he threw his away as soon as he tasted it. Then we get our food out and I told them I didn't want any of that butter mustard on my sandwich and it was covered in it. Therefore, I nor my husband will never go back to Lic's on Parrish ave in Owensboro, Ky . Not just food and order being nasty and wrong also the people were rude. I understand that some days the food and drinks suffer due to different things but rudeness is never exceptable...

Best ice cream in the tri-state area! They also have amazing soups and killer sandwiches if you want to have dinner before your ice cream feast! This place is one of the top reasons I look forward to the Christmas season every year. They offer seasonal ice creams and at Christmas time, it's Peppermint Stick, the best stuff in the whole wide world of ice cream! In general, I'm not a huge peppermint lover; but take my word for it, once you try it, you will crave it ever after and be sad when the season ends and it goes away until the next year!
