âValentine's fail still waiting on our Sushiâ
First time visitors and recommend highly by a family friend. My husband and I were really looking for some good sushi and Thai food and decided that we would give it a go on V-day. Arrived at their new location in Oxford as our friend had said they secured a bigger location as they are a really great place. First impression, old Big Boy; but no big deal I was here for the food. We were sat and greeted by a server in sweat pants and t-shirt. I asked if we could have a minute after ordering our drinks (no alcohol is served here) as there menu has many items. We finally decided on two different roles and Pad Thai. After a normal amount of time. (Still empty tables at the time of 6:30pm) our Pad Thai came and my husband and I split that while we waited for our sushi. We finished our Pad Thai and our sushi never came. Another server came over took our plate and asked if we were waiting for anything else; we said we were waiting on sushi, she stated she would check on it; never to be seen again. Now it had been an hour from putting our food order in so we waited as maybe the kitchen was backed up maybe every table had ordered sushi but some customers were eating or already done so out of the 15 tables that were there half had already been served. Finally, we just asked for the bill as it seemed that the sushi just wasn't coming out. Now I have ran plenty of restaurants in 27 years of restaurant experience and I would say, 1. Let there be one or two different styles of pants and matching shirt. Also, it is unsafe to have kitchen staff in regular shoes and they should have nonslip shoes on. This will save you medical bills from slip and falls. A black pant or any kind would make for a great look and professional. Also, kitchen staff that come out with food shouldn't look like they rolled out of bed and their hair should be pulled back. I won't be back as there are too many places to try and first impressions either will drive me back or not. We came from 40 mins away to give it a go and go we did with no...
Read moreWe experienced the wrong portion and unripened fruit, the last 2 times we have purchased sushi here. I thought the last time was a fluke because it had always been good previously regardless of the 2 hour amount of time it took to actually get ahold of someone the previous purchase. This last purchase the last phone wait was significantly less(which was great). But then we got our food and my husband ordered the Sashimi roll which is supposed to be 8-10 pieces (per the menu) the excuse from the cook for the sushi was "that's just how I cut it and the menus not up to date". I could understand that, if the pieces were bigger but they were not even half inch thick. I got the Paradise Dragon roll and the mango was not ripe whatsoever, this time or last time. It was hard, crisp and very bitter.. As I said the last time I purchased the same thing the mango was also raw, so I had to go through and pick most of it out. I actually felt sick to my stomach from the pieces I didn't take out. I didn't say anything last time just to give them the benefit of the doubt. The Sushi Chefs excuse for this was "that's just how the fruit is right now". Ummmm no... We just bought Mango from Meijer last week and both were very ripe. How can you run a restaurant and serve a fruit that is not even ripe to consumers? The Sushi Chef was very rude about everything. The server Kim has always been very nice, every time we have been there. She was the best part of our experience today. The manager walked out, but didn't even really come out to the car. He and my husband were shouting to each other from across the parking lot. My husband and I were in the car so basically they were having to shout at each other to even hear what the other was saying. Anyways he didn't do anything to...
Read moreWe've ordered from here multiple times in the last year. It quickly became our favorite Thai food. We frequent Sushi & Thai regularly, including throughout the pandemic.
Iâve had some blah Thai a couple times, including a spoiled lime in my pad Thai last time, but we just kinda dealt with it.
Last night, for my birthday, my husband called to order. He was told 1.5-2 hours for sushi. Ok, we choose to do something else.
Tonight he calls, orders, is told 30 minutes.
Well 30 minutes turned into an hour ....
.... but what's even better is he was given his Thai food after 30 minutes. So it sat in the car for 30 minutes to get cold while waiting on my food.
How in the hell is this acceptable service?! We will NEVER return. Ever.
I told my husband to demand a refund and leave, but he waited until he was on his way to text me.
I doubt they will even respond to this review because I honestly don't think they even care about happy clients.
** Edited to add - employee came out with my sushi, and my hubs asked how long to reheat his pad Thai they brought out 30 minutes prior. Employee response "just stir the noodles around that usually works" đ¤Żđ¤Ż yâall are kidding me,...
