We are previous residents of Oxford and were in town for a family function. This place used to be amazing. So it was on our list to visit. I’m curious if this restaurant changed hands, because the original owner had set the bar high. The entire experience was terrible. From the time we approached the counter to order, the girl taking the order waved her hands in my face and told me to hold on. Then looked at me and said “ ok what now “. When we tried to fill our drink cups, there was no ice. When I asked, the same girl that took our order said “ it’ll be a few minutes before someone can get it “. At that time another customer was asking for more of the honey tea and was told they were out. I had ordered the veggiecado sandwich. Apparently the knife for the avacado was missing. So after 10 minutes of digging threw garbages and crawling around on the floor yelling at the other crew that her knife was missing, she opted for a plastic knife. She changed her gloves, but after going thru garbages and crawling around on the floor. I felt like her hands should have been washed. After a 20 minute wait for 2 sandwich’s we got our food. With no acknowledgement or apology for the wait. I have never left a bad review in my life, but I feel the owner or upper management should be aware of how their restaurant is being ran, because if this type of service keeps up, they won’t have a restaurant left. Very sad, because when we were Oxford residents when this place opened it...
Read moreAfter a long day there's nothing more pleasing then snuggling on the couch with your person and ordering restaurant food to be delivered to your door once in a while. This evening was not that moment. It really wasn't about the sub par food like the lightening Macor the ALDI style personal frozen pie, it was more about the rude inconsiderate manager assumably named Amber that told me her employees definitely put the 2 sides and the 2 sauces in the bag for pick up for Door Dash. She went on to blame the driver and when I explained that the drivers job is just that. To drive, not cook and prepare the bag for delivery. Well that just turned into I'm lying. i took 2 small sides and two sauces and hid them all because I absolutely love having to call them very diplomatically that they clearly didn't do their job. It's not a huge deal at the end of the day. Personally it's the managers deflection and mirroring that was most off putting. I thankfully had some Sweet Baby Rays bbq sauce in the fridge to give some moisture to the 3 Meats Platter and a air fryer to finish cooking the cornbread not to mention a microwave to heat up the macaroni soup. Seriously though, I don't blame door dash. I blame low end management and absentee ownership. Bad Brads always wins and I...
Read moreI've been a fan of Woodchips Express since they opened, and while their food is still good, their very frequent price increases and surcharge for a second BBQ sauce (2 used to be the standard) is making me a much less frequent customer.
YES! I understand cost increases are real, but a ~25% increase for a burrito in the last several months where it's almost $10 now, is getting hard to rationalize. The petty nickel and dimeing for a few tablespoons of sauce is just irritating.
Edit: Post owners response to my original post
Again, I do understand the price increases for the product (The cost of everything has gone up), the part that is annoying is the nickel and diming on things like a couple tablespoons of barbecue sauce. It would be less annoying/noticeable if they simply increase the price of the product by a few cents to offset the cost of the barbecue sauce and container.
Hopefully that clarifies things. Also, to be clear, I have no issues with the quality of the food. It is very good, and yes while it is more expensive than it used to be, it is better than anything you were going to find in a...
