I have been going to this theater all my life although not all the time lately. The 7 theater format has advantages and disadvantages. The sound can be on point and loud for loud movies which is good and the format doesn't work for premium large formats which is not important for every movie or moviegoer. The seats, while comfortable, don't have a headrest.
The main thing in my most recent visit is really a small thing in the scheme of being a regular moviegoer: customer service. I mainly go to other theaters for various reasons and the service I've gotten has been better at every other cinema. I don't go to Oxford 7 often but, it is convenient and I haven't had this issue before. Mainly, it's an unfriendly attitude coming from the entire staff that I interacted with and I only bought a ticket the most recent trip. The cashier had a quizzical look on his face as I walked up in an empty lobby. Then, the manager was pacing around staring at the floor. After I purchased my ticket I waited for others in the lobby and the entire team (including the manager) had a conversation about how someone (a customer) definitely looked like a hobo. Considering movie theaters employ a diverse range of nerds, cool kids, and odd balls, I don't think labeling the customers on a slow day is a good thing to do. I had been told by an acquaintance they had a bad experience when they visited the theater for the first time recently too. Mainly a rude and lazy ticket counter attitude.
Oxford 7, as a neighborhood theater don't offend customers who want to go there by being unfriendly and providing bad service. I never had a bad service experience up until my most recent visit. Improving that a bit would make a...
Read moreJust recently, me and my kids went to see the movie inside out 2. When I went up to buy tickets and concessions, one of the employees there said to me what do you want boss. I didn’t say anything but an employee shouldn’t call you boss. I think his name was Daniel, that’s what I heard from an other employee saying his name. After I got my tickets and concessions, I went into the theater and my kids were telling me that the employee look scary and my kids were scared. This employee had tattoos on his arms, neck, and little of his face. Pretty much after that my kids and I enjoyed the movie. I probably won’t be coming back to this theater again for what had happened. I would recommend not having employees call customers boss and not have...
Read moreI live close by so I sometimes come here to take in a movies I want to see. The prices are better than going to a Star theater and the accommodations are quite good with a pretty good selection of movies. Just a word of warning: if you want to see a 3-d movie you've got a one week window to see it in that format. If you wait you're out of luck. Just a few complaints I think there is too many trailers and advertising before the main movie starts up. I'd say about 15 minutes, of course this might be good if you're running late. I did have an issue where a staff member demanded to see everyone's ticket in a dark theater with the main feature playing. It only happened once, but I was not pleased, either check during the trailers or don't...
