To begin with, we were welcomed by a server who did not make us feel welcomed. From the beginning, she gave us an attitude and was very passive aggressive. We had placed an order of drinks, and food when we first made contact with the server, within 5 minutes of sitting at the bay. A few of our items came out quickly, for example the the pitcher of beer, but the nachos and mac and cheese bites, took an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes to deliver. This was after a manager got involved, i cant imagine the wait without the manager involvement. Throughout our time there, we asked nicely where the drinks and food were, the server responded I can check for you, but "I just put the order in and there is nothing I can do." We asked about 2-3 times and each time she continued to be more passive aggressive and rude. I felt extorted to continue paying for longer games until I received my food while the couple next to us continued to eat while their game had ended. They were not forced to extend their time because they were eating at the bay after the game time had ended (an option that was not provided to us). The server did not ask them to extend their time while they enjoyed their food peacefully. We had asked if that was an option for us, if we could finish our game and eat our food at the bay since the food was taking too long to deliver. We were told verbatim, you canât leave until your food comes out, so therefore you have to continue to purchase additional playing time until you get your food, which we did (we were later compensated for this), but still drinks came out 1 hour later (an old fashion and a vodka lemonade), the food showed up anywhere from 1-1.5 hours from initial order. There was not many people playing nor ordering food. The issue was for sure the server did not put the order in, maybe she wanted us to continue playing to receive a larger tip because I am positive that without the manager involvement, we would have been playing until closing time (along the lines of three hours). The server did not check in on us, we kept asking for the drinks, and food we had order and she kept telling us it was on the way (this could have been dealt with in a more professional manner, instead of raising your voice at a customer). She called the manager, and the manager brought our food within 15 mins of making contact, which doesnât make sense because why does their need to be a manager involved to get food, something simple as macaroni bites, wings, or nachos after 1-1.5 hrs of service. The manager came to me and said treat his server with respect, when she was the one who was disrespectful. That was the most frustrating part, the quality and customer service by the server. The manager resolved the issues to some extent but overall I left with a very bad experience that the manager had to come to me to show his server respect when she was very much rude and disrespectful the whole engagement. I felt threatened, disrespected, uncomfortable, unattended, unappreciated, and flabbergasted this was the service my friends and I were treated with. My friends who did not make contact with the server, felt...
Read moreWe have been here so many times, small issues, but nothing to ever really say anything about..until today. Got a bay at the end of the second level - we got through a partial game, then we finally got a server. Asked for a beer, coke, and sweet tea. Pretzel bites & nachos. The tea and coke came - tea was terrible, so we asked for another soft drink. The girl rolled her eyes - lol? Like what? Okay, so whateverâŚ.moving on⌠Food came from someone else, which itâs cool, whatever. Finished the beer and coke, we asked for another. Time went on, and I decide to go to the bar to ask for a beer and put it on that bay. Then I mention the bees and wasp over at the end where our bay were definitely getting a bit out of hand - the girl said âoh wowâ, and literally turns around - LOL okay girl. I end up going back, and still no sign of the coke or beer. At this point, the game asked us to extendâŚwe decided to extend. Our waitress comes back and goes to the other bays near us who clearly had bigger partiesâŚ.i look at her and she walks away again. Still no coke - at this point been there over an hour. (maybe 10 min after getting my drink at the bar), So I look at the number thatâs listed for too golf, and call it. I ask if I can speak to a manager on duty. The guy says, âI mean I can try to find someone, but whatâs the problem, maybe I can helpâ. I tell him our bay number and explain Iâm paying to play, Iâd really like the coke and beer we ordered. He says something along the lines of âtrying to get someone over thereâ - lol?. So, we ended up getting our stuff and on the way out, I spoke with someone at the front. The little boy working, thought it was funny I was complaining, because I told him I needed a refund for the bay and explained why - I didnât mind paying for the food and beer. So he spoke to whomever was in the office behind the front counter, and the âhighest person here right nowâ (per his words) was âJalenâ. Bless âJalenâsâ heart - he was clearly very upset that I called âcorporate â (again, I called the number listed under their address in Oxon hill), rather then âchase someone down in a red shirt to fix the issue at hand, firstâ - per his words. Lol, well I was able to chase him down to let him know I needed a refund on the wasted time at the bay. I didnât mind paying for the food and drinks, I just wasnât paying for the bay considering so much wasted time chasing the bees and wasps thatâs at the end bays. He ended up clearing out the table and handing me a receipt (which had someone elseâs name on it ), which cool, thanks - but again, I truly didnât mind paying for that, but you more so, teach your staff better customer service and take care of all those bees and wasps at the end bay(s). Iâm truly shocked weâre almost at the end of summer and this hasnât been brought up (assuming if it ever has, it would have been taken care of? maybe?)
Seriously, believe the...
Read moreIâve been to Top Golf a couple times a year and usually have a good time, but our visit on Memorial Day weekend Sunday was a complete letdown. I work in hospitality, so I get how hectic holiday weekends are, and I hate writing bad reviews. But honestly, the service we got was just awful, no excuses.
Our server smelled like alcohol from the start and acted like we were bothering her. Sheâd roll her eyes and lean in when she couldnât hear us over the noiseâwhich, you know, itâs Top Golf, itâs supposed to be loud and fun. We got there a bit late, but we paid for our full time slot, so that shouldnât mean we get treated poorly. It took a solid 30 minutes just to place our order after we reached our bay. The food was goodâwe ordered a bunch of apps, drinks, and six entreesâand we were set to hang out for at least three hours and keep ordering. But our server was nowhere to be found most of the time, so that didnât happen.
With 15 minutes left, she rushed through our bay, swiped her card on the system without saying a word, and left. That was her chance to let us know what was going on, like whether we could extend, but she didnât. She came back with an unrequested check and asked if we wanted anything else, which felt pointless with so little time left. My girlfriendâs sister asked if we could extend our session, but the server said we couldnât because of another reservation. Frustrated but still trying to make it work, we thought maybe a new bay with a better server could turn things around. We saw plenty of open bays, so we politely asked if we could move. She said no and told us to go to the reception desk ourselves. I gave her another shot, asking if she could check with the host for us, but she came back and just said to go to the front desk.
So, I went to the reception desk and asked about moving bays. They said we could, but there was a three-hour wait. The wait wasnât even the worst partâit was that nobody told us upfront we couldnât extend or move easily. If our server had just said at the beginning, âHey, weâre booked solid, no extensions,â we couldâve planned better. The worst part was my girlfriendâs sister, whoâs been in hospitality for seven years and lives off tips, deciding to leave a $0 tip because the service was so bad. I felt bad about it, but I get why she did it. This whole experience was such a mess that I was planning to go back to Top Golf this weekend for my birthday with friends, but now weâre heading to Rudyâs instead. I just canât deal with service...
