I go out to eat every weekend. I love to cook mostly fresh food and no smothereing sauces So when I eat out I love a good taste bud shock with something new. I east almost everything except cow tongue. LOL I don't skimp I alway have appetizer then a salad and an entree. Along with a drink or two but never more. We finally visited Taste Cafe & Bistro. We were greated very nicely at the door given choice where to sit. Service right away was pleasant. The food I had escargot which was tender in a butter sauce. Not heavy or salty or garlicky. It was very tasty I do prefer a bit of garlic but that is personal taste. I then had a very fresh Cesar salad but not soaking in dressing which is great. I could have asked for more dressing if I wanted Dinner well I never had rabbits and explained that I would like to try it and since I eat almost everything I wouldn't feel bad if I didn't like it. But this is where Sue our server stood way out. She very well explained the differant taste and very nicely said if I didn't like it to tell her right away and she would get me something else. Not that was a very amazing offer but I couldn't go wrong. So then the end of the story I liked everything they served The big question you're all looking for is yes I will go back again to see if I get the same wonderful service and food that I had before. I would also try other things on the menu. We all have our own personal tastes so I would feel comfortable to ask for a special spice or different twist on something they serve. Will see next time .. Thank you for making my first experience at your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis quiet nook of a place has all the hallmarks of a family run European bistro; a handful of tables with wooden seats, comfortable stone painted with images of food and family echoed by pictures on the "Wall of Fame" of celebrities, friends and neighbors.. and food that reminds you of home cooking. If your home has a fantastic chef in the kitchen!
We went for dinner and the food was beautiful. Simple, made with great ingredients, well executed, with small details that accentuated the presentation and flavor profiles of each dish.
We had the Grilled Eggplant Napoleon which was a success of sweet cheese, roasted eggplant and toast brightened by caramelized red onion and balsamic like something out of your Italian grandmother's kitchen. The entrees were similar in their excellent flavors and presentation.
And then the desserts looked so good we had apple gallette AND chocolate torte. If the meal was a family affair, dessert was aimed at high cuisine. Flavors and textures balanced, sauces complimenting the plate and adding to every bite with richness and contrast. I'd like to have a standing order of both for breakfast to start my day off right.
Our waitress was a young woman by the name of Noor who provided a gentle guiding light through our courses and helped make our evening something wonderful.
I'd happily take any friend or family member to visit and I'm already planning a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStopped here during our recent day outing to Pacific Grove CA. 5 star for service and hospitality, but dishes we tried out were a hit or miss. Bread served had a perfect mix of crunchy shell and flaky soft interior. The Eggplant Neapolitan appetizer (with the caramelized onions) was amazing, but fried calamariās batter was unbearably salty. Will recommend Escargot appetizer, but would prefer them in their shell for the eating experience. Tortellini Florentine had refreshing freshness and didnāt feel heavy despite the creamy sauce. Grilled rabbit was a disappointment only because of the lack of tenderness of the meat (yes, I know it takes efforts to get rabbit meat to be tender š). The sauce was delicious and the portion size generous. Will recommend this place, because based on their hospitality I believe that they will improve dishes where they...
