I was hoping to email the owner to privately share my feedback, but couldn't find any contact info.
3-stars for so-so first experience. However, I will try them again in the future with a different drink order.
What I thought I ordered: Unsweetened, hot, roasted oolong tea, soy milk, red bean topping, and tapioca pearls.
What I received: Normal sweetness, hot, roasted oolong tea, soy milk, powdered red bean, and tapioca pearls.
Note to owner: Please offer unsweetened soy milk if you don't already! (I didn't ask what type they use).
My Drink: It was a little too milky for my taste, so I probably should have ordered without any milk added. It could have also felt too milky/rich because of the additional sweetness that I hadn't ordered. It would be cool if you could select your desired milk level like you can with the sugar level. Despite the richness, the roasted oolong flavor did come through! It would probably be even stronger tasting without milk or sugar competing with it. The temperature was perfect; just cool enough that it was still hot but I could drink it right away. I love red bean! Unfortunately they do not offer traditional whole red beans, but instead a powdered mix. I didn't like the gritty texture this left in my drink and I missed eating the whole beans :( The tapioca pearls were a nice texture: chewy but not hard, soft but not mushy.
Friend ordered: Less sweet, cold, green tea, red bean, and non-dairy creamer.
Friend's Drink: Overall blah flavor. Too milky and neither green tea nor red bean flavor were strong enough to shine through. Also fell prey to the red bean powder instead of whole red beans.
The Service: The owners gave off a very positive and friendly energy! They offered us samples of their different bobas which was a nice gesture. They provide a steel straw that you can bring back to use on future orders for a $.50 discount. Love this! Prices were reasonable and comparable to other cafes. The cashier was frazzled and got my order wrong. It took a couple tries to get him to put soy milk instead of whole milk and he put normal sweetness instead of no sweetness....
Read moreBeach Boba is our new favorite place. We drive from the city to grab a consistently delicious refreshing boba drink with an environmentally friendly sentiment. The place is clean and calm. The service is always friendly and impeccable. Everything about this place screams the BEST of family business with a very personal touch. Tonight my daughter’s boba craving had me running red lights (not really) to get there by closing. The owner Iman (Imad? Hard to hear with a mask) was there overseeing the service and made sure we got the drinks we wanted. He even said “ you should have the drink you want” when I ordered wrong and felt bad and instead of wasting the drink, gave us the mistake (“for tomorrow”) and the one we wanted. Also they use metal straws which they give you so you can bring them and reuse and when you do they upgrade your drink size. The cups are recyclable (and reusable) plastic and everything about this place feels good to support. Come for the boba and make a friend at Beach Boba. This is a place we will support and tell our...
Read moreWe have a winner. I’m not even from Pacifica, but I have this place marked on my map whenever I pass by.
First off, you get unlimited toppings. And there are 36!! options!! I mean, how can you beat that? Oh, and you get to sample the toppings, to make sure you actually like them. And you will. Because contrary to my preconception, each topping actually tasted pretty legit. The matcha boba tasted like matcha. The strawberry popping tasted like strawberry (okay, maybe not real strawberries, but yknow what I mean).
The only thing that could’ve ruined it is bad tea, but you’ll find no such thing here. I go for the jasmine every time - it’s a soft, fragrant kind of tea that pairs nicely with the 10+ toppings you’ll inevitably get.
On top of all of that, the staff here are super friendly. I mean, what else could you ask for from a...
