Chiggy's Gyros — Restaurant in Palatine Township

Greece would be ashamed for this Restaurant and here are reasons why

The Customer service is secretly ignoring all customers who aren’t White this is America you should treat all HUMANS with respect and judge them by there actions Period.

The food is not fresh but they say it is and it’s not because three people in my Neighborhood went here both for lunch and dinner and found odors in the meat and side orders and the restaurant ignored them after they Paid for the Meal.

The Price is Too High and Yes Covid had a role in that factor but still you need sell more orders to more people for more business in the end of the day and monthly quarters.

In other States they don’t have this issue because of trust, honest, and hard working people giving one another a chance and not just greed and fast cash like this place is.

The attitude is off the charts I was waiting in line for my order than This Asian man comes asking to place an order 30 minutes before they close and they denied him service, he drove with some friends and the Restaurant told them to go somewhere else in 2022? This is not how AMERICA WORKS.

Chiggy’s Gyros has there own private policy agenda and that is ok for business and financial marketing but Not aggression to the customer especially if there not White in 2022? It’s not 1940 people wake up.

No modern Delivery system yes they have Uber Eats, Grub Hub, and Doordash but still the food ends cold wet Gyros which is not appetizing at all if you paid more than $17.

No Drive Thru in 2022?

No Hospitality in the dining experience you just watch the staff mock and stare at you all day.

Just go to Wendy’s People more Meat, Better Prices, More variety in the menu selection and great Customer Service with a smile not ego with attitude and frustration everyday with judgment...

Went last night for their famous chicken. They were out. What! Ugh. Put in my substitute order, dog and fries + gyros and fries, cheeseburger and fries. 40 MINUTES later I'm STILL standing there with 12+ frustrated customers and I've had enough. Asked for my $ back, owner yells at his crew throw it in the garbage fellas (LOL). I'll check my CC to confirm I got my refund.

One lady waited an hour and got her food comped. Owner explained they gave her order to someone else... Oh boy.

Here's the kicker, they were PUMPING out delivery orders (UberEats, Grubhub?) orders like crazy. You can tell because they have this big print out with order details that is handled with the bagged food.

Lesson to be learned, don't fall for this support local stuff if it's supporting a poorly run business that cares more about online orders than dine-in or carry-out customers. And shame on me for driving to my old haunt in Palatine from RM since I drove past half dozen other fast-food joints. Last time going to Chiggy's.

Postscript- Went to another hot dog place by the Northrop Grumman plant, BBQ Patio I believe its called, and they had the exact same order as Chiggy's done in 10 mins and $10 CHEAPER to boot. Granted they were empty but hey the food...

I've always liked this place in the past but it's not as good as it used to be. I had a Gyros plate with salad and fries. The Gyros lacked flavor and were a bit dry. The tzatziki sauce was mild and not distinctive. The fries were good. The salad was fresh and good but the dressing was extremely salty. I paid extra for sauce and received a couple tablespoons of it in a smaller cup than came with my plate.

UPDATE: I gave an honest review for the food I received from this restaurant. It was not a delicious meal. The owner complains that I didn't talk to him first before giving him a review on Google. My order was takeout. I live 8 mi from Chiggy's. The food should always be good regardless. I shouldn't need to drive back to speak with the manager to fix a wrong. I was charged $0.80 for extra sauce and given two Tbsp in a cup. My sandwich came with a larger portion. The Gyros meat was dry and not tasty. I like to buy meals...
