Dairy Queen - Palatine — Restaurant in Palatine Township

Will never return here! After ordering all my birthday cakes over years from here walked in to get one I ordered … I wasn’t wearing a mask One table in there was unmasked eating I was 10 feet from the employee who refused to get my cake because I didn’t have a mask nor did she have one to offer me … the masks are unconditional and neighboring states don’t require them! Shame on this business.. if they want to enforce and someone doesn’t wear one in offer them one !!! I’m done with this place !

The owner contacted me and appologized but explained that as a small business he is in a tough spot due to the governors mandate..I am from Michigan and there is no mask mandate there..I think Illinois and maybe 5 other states have these unconstitutional mandates in place and they need to be taken away (those are my words not the owner). I feel for these businesses as some people have taken it upon themselves to report these busineses if they aren't complying ..truly shameful. Went In on 9/25 around 6:30 and ordered 6 items, 5 blizzards and 1 hot fudge sundae. The hot fudge sundae that was made was half fudge and half ice cream, you could barely see the ice cream under all the fudge. I asked them to remake it because it looked horrible. They weighed it and said that it actually weighed more then it is supposed too( no kinding it's all fudge) and they would not remake it. I had already paid and the line was now backed up to the door. I was not happy, but decided to let it go and proceeded to leave. As I'm walking out the young teenage boy yells out " have a nice night". I take my family out for DQ once a week. It is safe to say that it will be the last time I spend a dollar in palatines DQ on Northwest hwy. I called on Monday evening and was a little frustrated with the lady I spoke on the phone with about making a sheet cake. She wasn’t able to answer my questions so well so she just hands me off to her manager and he did not sound to excited on the phone at all. They took my order and got it going to stated I needed to call back the next day and speak with Anna and she would be able to decorate it and get me taken care of. I spoke with Anna on the phone and then in person and she was 100% amazing and went above and beyond what I could ask for and did an AMAZING job. Not sure who else helped but thank you very much. Looked amazing and taste perfect. 20+ guys at an amazing local body shop much enjoyed...
