New review: i ended up giving them another shot because I decided to give them another chance since they were so new when I first visited and I thought the taste might be better by now but still a no-go for black garlic tonkotsu. Service was worse, it was a weekend night and only ONE server was working. Highly recommend zen ramen instead for black garlic tonkotsu ramen. Chashu was not tough this time but tasteless, like it wasnt marinated in anything. Egg is hardboiled, seemed like they got lazy.

1 year ago - I got the black garlic tonkotsu ramen but could barely taste the garlic at all. Tonkotsu is very diluted as well. Chashu was a little tough. Ramen portion is average, not sure why another reviewer said it is huge. Same portion as misoya or chicago ramen. The karaage (fried chicken) is pretty good but they strangely used chicken breast instead of chicken thigh. Then again this place is not serving authentic japanese food so I guess they can get away with it lol. The portion for the chicken though, was the most I have ever seen!! You can probably make a meal out of that and rice. For a place that focuses on ramen, I will not...

Small family owned restaurant. Good variety of ramen options. Several rice bowls and appetizers available. Overall, the ramen was pretty tasty. The chashu was soft but with a slight bite. The broth was pretty flavorful. The soft boiled egg was just right. Our noodles that day were slightly overcooked for our taste. The decor is unassuming. Service was prompt and friendly. We would come again and try the rice bowls next time.

Update: came back to try the rice bowls. The gyudon was delicious. The katsu curry was pretty tasty too. The pork buns are melt in your mouth pork belly and the sauce isn't too sweet. The gyoza are deep fried and have a good texture. Reasonable prices. Decent portions.

Update: Several Maki rolls available as well. The appetizers are yummy. The fried brussel sprouts are a good portion and delicious.

Update: tried the grapefruit green tea - refreshing. Several milk tea and fruit tea options are...

Disclaimer: if it was an option, I'd give this more like 3.5 stars. The ramen wasn't bad. It wasn't great either. I'm not much of a meat eater lately so I ordered the vegetable ramen.

I paid under $15 so I definitely can't complain about the price! And the kid at the counter was great, too.

The ramen itself? Ehhh... it was okayish. There wasn't much in the way of veggies - a little broccoli, a little corn, and some onions. That's about it. The broth was hot but bland. I had to season it up a lot but, once I did, it was fine. The noodles were....weird. Instead of the typical ramen noodles one would expect, these looked more like linguini noodles. Not terrible, just not quite what I expected.

Would I go out of my way to return? No. But, if I happened to be in the neighborhood and driving by? sure, I'd...
