Captain D's in Palatka has pleasantly surprised me with its outstanding value and delectable food. I never expected to find such high-quality offerings at a fast-food restaurant. The grilled fish paired with a baked potato and a side of delicious green beans exceeded my expectations. To top it off, the hush puppies were delightfully crispy and flavorful.

Since my initial visit, I have returned to Captain D's several times, both on my own and with family. I am thrilled to report that the quality of the food has remained consistently excellent. This consistency sets Captain D's apart from the regular fast-food chain restaurants, making it a refreshing and welcome change.

This place is amazing and part of the ShArKgAnG places to go eat and approved 100% by your local neighborhood Shark 🦈 I stopped by here after driving a hour to go see some shrimp & fish in the St Johns River since we were already thinking about fish to begin with and it was not a bad decision what so ever!! Me & my father enjoyed splitting the lobster rolls & they were perfectly made to perfection especially for only $5 then we both got our own platter of the $5.99 two piece fish deal that was to perfection also cooked just perfect with the fish so hot fresh and crispy while the hush puppies were soft moist yet still had a nice crunch & do not miss out on that coleslaw because most places suck at that pretty bad and this one doesn't miss what so ever!! All together I could metaphorically hug this place for existing and for having the prices they provide their customers you now have a very valued customer one that is in the top 5% of all restaurants including seafood!! I am SO IMPRESSED with the Compassion shown by the staff to “Seniors”…. The day I stopped by was “Senior Day”. The restaurant was very busy but the ENTIRE STAFF worked well together to get the food orders out quickly and with the utmost in accuracy. My food was EXCELLENT and the portion sizes were much larger than I had expected. During my “dine in experience “ I noticed the interactions between the staff and many elderly customers. I was so thrilled to see that the counter/cashier lady (I really wish I had gotten her name) was so patient and caring with each guest. She went out of her way to make everyone feel welcomed and special. She was so caring and compassionate with those guest that were a bit challenged by their age and present mobility limitations. The Food was EXCELLENT but the Customer Service Experience was even more SUPERIOR. THE ENTIRE STAFF NEEDS RECOGNITION FOR GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND TO ENSURE EVERYONE FEELS APPRECIATED.
