I get it—times have changed, and with inflation, prices everywhere have gone up. I don’t mind paying more when the quality matches the cost. But sadly, that wasn’t the case today.
This bagel shop used to be a staple for us since we were 16—huge, delicious bagels stuffed for a fair price. Today, I picked up two turkey, cheese, and egg white bagels with tomato at $9 each for my wife and me. Given the times, I didn’t expect $4 bagels anymore, but I did expect a decent breakfast.
Instead, what we got was underwhelming: the bagel wasn’t toasted, the cheese wasn’t melted, just two thin slices of turkey, and a plain egg white. The tomato seemed to throw everything off, leaving the whole sandwich confused between hot and cold.
I understand inflation, but when you’re charging nearly $10 for a bagel, the quality should reflect the price. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing bagels I’ve had in years—especially from a place that was once a beloved go-to.
I don’t know if it’s new ownership and a new workforce, but today this went from one of the best bagel shops in the country to a place I’ll have to think twice about returning to. It seems the unmelted cheese & underwhelming breakfast...
Read moreIf I could give zero Stars I would. I've been going here for 6 years and every time I asked for lettuce, onion, and sliced nova. Every single time would be a tomato or no lettuce or no onions. I put up with it for a long time. They charge$12 through $14. Everytime was a different price.I went in last week and the lady handled the money with her glove on one hand and no glove on the other hand and then went to go make my bagel. I asked politely if she could change the gloves and put one on each hand. She gave me an attitude and then one of the gentleman that I believe is the manager who has been there a long time said that nothing can happen from them touching the money and then touching my food I said I know someone who worked for the Board of Health and that would be a No-No. I always give a dollar tip. Well I was charged $15 for that last Bagel sandwich. I went to the bagel store on Anderson Avenue across from Cafasso's and they only charge $9.50. The lady there put clean gloves on every single time she did something else. I'll go there...
Read moreDespicable customer service. I’ve been coming to this bagel shop for years. Born and raised in Fort Lee. I have never in my entire life been treated so disgusting and disrespectfully over my SERVICE DOG. I’ve had my service dog for a year and everywhere we go I get asked for his ID. I provide it and no issue I’m always allowed in any establishment or event. This specific employee was harassing me, verbally attacking me asking me what is my disability. What right do you have to ask me my disability? He was yelling at me in front of other customers and staff didn’t even give me the opportunity to get my ID out. He gave me an anxiety attack I had to exit. EDUCATE YOURSELF before you question someone. It is against the NEW JERSEY LAD law to question someone on their disability. Not every disability is visible or physical. This place is disgusting. Seriously don’t waste your time or money coming to this hole in the wall. The employees are ignorant and disrespectful. Go get your BEC SPK @ BINGHAMTON BAGEL ON...
