Ok, so I had another gathering and ordered a platter plus PARADISE ROLL (comes with no rice) for some who didn't want rice. Although I couldn't remember its name, I've had this roll before and I know what it should look & taste like. Whoever answered my call said 1 roll = 5 to 6 pieces. So I ordered 3: thinking that it'd come in a small platter to match other special platter being ordered. No. This $ 33 worth came in to-go plastic case, total of exactly 15 pieces including small ends. Maybe I should've told him to make $ 30-35 worth Paradise roll instead. The cucumber must've been cut & ready to use before being rolled - because it was so dry! Sliced pretty thick & uneven also.
And the platter was nice, but not as good as the last time I ordered.
Now here comes the reason for taking off 2 stars. I called them to let them know and get feedback. The guy didn't seem to care how we felt & what we thought about this at all. He was so confident to tell me rolls were made 'just right' theyre not some corporate head office. I really didn't appreciate how he handled the call. This takes down all the hard work and quality of the place. I wasn't looking to get some free stuff. I just wanted someone to listen, understand and do better.
Will I order again from this place? I don't know. Maybe.
Below is my previous posting. It's so upsetting because places don't keep up good intention and hard working mind as when they first open it up. If you change, people will notice.
I've had sushi from this place some time at the parties. Today was teacher's luncheon at kids' school and I brought sushi platter from this place. It was a huge hit!!! Everyone loved it. You know what. I think I'll become one of the regulars at this place now. Thank you for such fresh...
Read moreWe ordered some bento boxes for lunch and the chicken teriyaki is not what I expected. I have had chicken teriyaki plenty of times elsewhere and usually it is tender, juicy chicken in teriyaki sauce. The kind they have here tastes more like dry fried chicken jerky with teriyaki sauce. It reminded me of the hard, candied Korean sweet potato dessert they serve at Korean Chinese restaurants. My co-worker ordered the bulgogi and thought it was too sweet. One other co-worker thought the shumai was really good. It was just ok. I only wonder how the...
Read moreI absolutely hate leaving bad reviews but: I used to frequent this former 5-star place. However they’ve severely reduced the individual size of their sushi - from around 210 grains of rice to maybe 175 grains or less, and fish sliced almost see-through thin. Then raised prices on the reduced size. Sushi has very strict standards - 247 grains of rice and minimum 3.5 to 4 grams of fish per standard nigiri. If you’re not even coming close, then what are you really selling? Just raise the price some more and make something closer to standard...
