I'm not sure why this place only has 3 stars - I really enjoyed the food! The portions are huge and are totally worth it. For $13.99, I got the cheese tonkatsu (pork cutlet with cheese and special sauce). It came with three whole pork cutlets, so I had leftovers to take home. I normally don't like pork cutlets because they're usually dry but this was not the case at all at Bunsik Nara. The outside was perfectly crispy, the inside was tender, and the cheese was melty. Plus, the cheese was actually in the cutlet, and not haphazardly sprinkled on top, which was a very nice touch. I just wasn't a fan of was the special sauce it came with. It had this weird cinnamon flavor to it. I would have much preferred a side of curry or something. Another thing was the kimchi. It tasted like they didn't ferment it long enough because it didn't really have any flavor to it. But overall, I had a pretty great meal. Also, our waiter was super nice, and attentive. Would definitely come back if I'm ever...
Read moreIf you're on the hunt for Korean comfort food that hits all the right notes – taste, portions, and wallet-friendliness – then this place is your new happy spot. Let's talk about the Jjamppong, a bowl so huge it could feed a small village, brimming with a broth so deep and flavorful, it's like a warm hug for your soul. And the noodles are fresh, perfectly chewy. Perfectly for rainy days. We ordered the Combo C with popcorn chicken? A total winner. And the Alfredo pasta is delicious. I also tried the Curry Katsu, which was fantastic. I even brought some friends who were new to Korean cuisine for their very first Korean meal here, and they absolutely devoured everything.
To top things off, we received complimentary dumplings that are seriously, seriously delicious. It's the little touches that make you feel truly valued. Bunsiknara was affordable, hearty, and incredibly satisfying. A gem for...
Read moreI ordered the soondubu and didn’t know that it was going to be so spicy. It didn’t indicate on the menu to ask for a level of spiciness. I also came later than my party so I was in a hurry to order. The soul also lacked any real flavor. It tasted very bland. I don’t think there was a good variety of side dishes to complement my meal either. I barely ate half of my soup when everyone else was finished eating so I asked for a to-go container. They only gave me a brown paper bag but I wish they gave me a plastic one since it was raining outside and we were walking to the bakery/cafe and it got wet and was hard to carry along with my umbrella and drink. All in all, I think certain dishes were good, but I’d steer away from the soondubu because it’s not worth paying $14 for. All the dishes are...
