I have traveled all over the Caribbean from Haiti to Nassau Bahamas to Cuba and to find Chef and Mrs DNA’s food truck I was blown away with everything on the menu. Now this isn't a one and done review. My wife and I who are on vacation, a honeymoon two years in the making, have eaten here twice already with a promise to return a third (and probably 4th) time m this week and as people who LOVE discovering good food for us to stop looking in Florida after finding this place is nothing short of an act of God (can I get a “Go Big Jesus?” from my NE Texans?).
They have an assortment of different tacos, to start, and so far we’ve had the Jerked Chicken and Jerked shrimp tacos (we’ll try the pork tomorrow) and let me tell you…mind blowing flavor! Between the perfectly seasoned chicken and shrimp, the incredible mango salsa and a balance of Chef and Mrs DNA’s sauces (oh yeah they make their own sauce and you will have to decide which is your favorite) tucked between perfectly grilled flour tacos will leave you begging for more!
We also had the crab cake salad, crab veggie roll and their flavor filled rice and beans all washed down with a Passion Mango drink (I honestly can’t remember what it’s called but it’s so refreshing) every dish was delicious.
If you’re in Melbourne area and you haven't stopped by and given them your business you’re doing your taste buds a disservice…seriously y’all should catch a case for not...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious food, amazing flavors, excellence in quality in food and service hands down. Was driving home and past their food truck on the way home and had to make a U-turn. Stopped by to see what they had to offer as this was my first time trying out their meals The service was fast, the portion was amazing and such a good price for the value of the meal. I ordered the Griot dish. I was blown away by the flavor of the marinated fried pork and rice and beans. So much flavor! The pork and beans reminded me of my husband's late grandmother's cooking in her Puerto Rican dishes, made with such love and care and some of the seasonings in the dish reminded of similar seasonings that I grew up on that my mother's Taiwanese side of the family used in there beef and pork dishes.
Most of all the owners were so kind, pleasant, and very welcoming. They took the time to explain the different dishes and options available. Please check out DNA Carribean Flavors, you will not be disappointed. My pregnancy hunger cravings and appetite were surely satisfied! Thank you DNA Carribean Flavors for the best meal ever after working a long overnight shift! God bless you all and may God continue to...
Read moreRan across this food truck going to another. I tried the Jerk Shrimp Bowl, Conch Fritters & Banana Fritters. Everything was good! The Banana Fritters seemed to be something like a deep-fried cinnamon sugar banana bread! It wasn't very banana-y, if you will, but it was good! The Conch Fritters were different as they were round & and flat, sorta like a crab cake. They had a nice kick to them and were delicious, just a lil oily, but so good. The Jerk Shrimp bowl was really good also. I'll try a few more items on their menu for sure! They're located next to Fish Bellies on A1A!
(2023.05) Finally, I got to try the Crab Cakes! I'll start by saying that taste/ flavor was on point! However, they were a little different. The Crab meat was very shredded and actually dry like (not sure if that meant the Crab wasn't the freshest), meaning there were no lump pieces and again as weird as it may sound, the meat was dry like, and was not lump Crab meat at all. I'll also say it wasn't mainly bread filling like some crab cakes can be. So, in closing, I'll say that I'd probably do them again in a pinch, but if I found a more lump crab meat, crab cake, I'd rather have the...
