The review by Mary Mcdonald is a forced review. we are regular sushi patrons...just cane back from Sushi Yama tonight-wonderful. I have eaten at Sushi Yama and Kabuki for 18 years in Boca and 7 years in this area. I also eat at numerous other sushi restaurants five times a week in the area. I have been to Ebisu many times( at least twenty), and the last few times waited 45 minutes fir my order. I could not believe after waiting 45 minutes, the waitress never approached us to say our food would be out shortly. I became upset when I asked for our food several times and the waitress briskly walked by our table and ignored us. The busboy approach the table where “Mary McDonald “was being seated and served them rather quickly. I believe they must be friends of the owner. The restaurant was really not that busy at that time and did not warrant a 45 minute wait for the rolls. And yes I was cranky because we waited 45 minutes with two kids and no food and no service. On top of it, I had to pay for tea. We went to Kabuki afterwards and spent 60 with valid payment method. I was not looking for anything for free, and have paid this restaurant a lot over the course of several years. That particular night I did pull out a Discover card to pay for the four dollar tea and a six dollar chicken satay that my daughter we ate while waiting 45 minutes for our food. I did not realize they did not take Discover. But that’s OK because I obviously did have a payment method to cover the four dollar tea and six dollar chicken my daughter ate while waiting 45 minutes. It just was a fluke I took my other card out. They should have comped the tea since we left without tea. Mary McDonald review was planned to offset my review, and obviously will mislead customers who are waiting 45 minutes for food . Sorry I tipped that waitress so well...
Read moreIve been coming to ebisu for YEARS. I loved their ramen so much and could never find more authentic and delicious ramen. I went to college and came back home on a date with my boyfriend and my experience was terrible.
First, my boyfriend and I got sat and it took 15 minutes for our waiter to even come up to us and ask us what to drink. It seemed like it was every single waiter’s first day on the job. After he took our drinks, he chatted with another table that had who im assuming were regulars, took 5 minutes at least talking to them, then went to another table to take their drink orders. Another 10 minutes goes by and i finally get my drink. We order and we wait over 40 minutes for our appetizers to come out. We ordered a roll and gyoza but we only got our gyoza because our waiter never put in the roll.
Another 30 minutes goes by and we finally get our ramen. Like i said previously, ebisu was by far the best ramen ive ever had in florida, ive tried many in south florida and orlando but nothing would ever compare. I was extremely disappointed that ebisu has started cutting corners and has changed their ramen. Im not sure what they did but the broth legitimately tasted like dishwater that had pork bones sitting in it, the two pieces of meat were the thinnest slices of pork belly, and the rest of the garnish, mushrooms etc. were flavorless and just not fresh. Our eggs were also extremely cold and our broth was basically room temperature. It was so bad that after we took one sip of the broth and a bite of the meat we sent it back and got it refunded in our order.
Im extremely disappointed in the quality and service that ebisu provides now. We will never come back. Beware to anyone who used to love this place for...
Read moreThis was my first time at this restaurant, and I absolutely loved it. We came here and were promptly shown the authentic Japanese seating on request.
When we sat down, a table of three ladies next to us (they made themselves evident in the other reviews today) were in a very sour mood and trying to manipulate other customers to turn against the establishment (you know the type.) They didn't bring a valid payment method (despite being "regulars"), and it seemed like they defensively fabricated a victim situation and were quite rude to the staff. They disturbed the other customers with their complaints, yet we never saw the staff treat them with anything but kindness and respect.
After they left, a gentle-seeming customer who apparently comes here quite often came up to us and said that those ladies had only been here for 15 minutes or so, that this establishment was a great place, and it didn't deserve such inappropriate criticism.
Once the cranky folks left, the restaurant environment was peaceful. My experience was absolutely perfect. Our waiter was very warmly kind and polite. We asked the waiter what the best vegetarian options are, and he was very helpful in helping me decide. The beer, miso soup, rainbow tofu stir fry, and mochi were absolutely delicious. Hardly any wait time at all.
Just wanted to give an honest, good review to offset a cranky person looking for things to go wrong and to get...
