We come here quite often and USUALLY always have to send MY STEAK š„© that I SPECIFICALLY request MEDIUM WELL WITH LIGHT PINK! Let me say that again, MEDIUM WELL WITH LIGHT PINK AS THEIR MENU STATES. My husband usually gets chicken but this visit he got a steak š„© and requested MEDIUM. As we told our waitress when we placed our order that this is what usually happens. Our waitress, Tracy (which was phenomenal) was busy so another young waitress brought our food and asked us to cut into our steak to make sure they were cooked as requested and SURE ENOUGH ITS NOT ACCEPTABLE! His or my steak wasnāt cooked properly. My husband doesnāt complain so he kept his MEDIUM RARE STEAK & I sent mine back. The manager brought me my re-cooked steak back and I sliced into it and that slice seemed to be okay. After he left I started slicing my steak and much to my surprise itās STILL NOT COOKED AS I REQUESTED! My husband doesnāt want to complain again cause weāve heard horror stories about ācomplaining and food being sent backā so we will take it home and my husband will cook it a few more minutes and make it medium. This is just OUR COMPLAINT about the food. Our drinks we sat at the bar area and Tracy was our waitress and she immediately placed our drink order (alcohol drinks) and we watched 2 couples and a single man sit at the bar and get served their drinks and placed their food orders BEFORE we even saw our drinks get made. We had to say something to Tracy to get even our first drinks and went ahead and placed an order for a 2nd drink order. Then we get our drinks and they definitely were more on the ālite sideā and weāre aware they āmeasureā their drinks or are supposed too as weāve had them plenty of other times and the drinks seemed just fine. This could be our last visit to this TRH sadly. My his favorite place to eat and have drinks and now have to find another place. First pic was supposed to be a medium and clearly itās MED RARE and second pic was after the re-cook on my medium-well steak. š„¹šš¢
Edit review- Salina one of the managers called me to ask about my experience and I was able to thoroughly give her an explanation and explain to her about my visit with the drinks and the steaks. She seemed concerned and Iām confident that when I go back I will get my steak exactly how I requested it. She also sent me a food voucher to use in the future if and when we decide to go back: I appreciate the time and consideration that TRH took to try and help me....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently visited Texas Road House with high expectations, as I've always heard positive things about their staff and their reputation for delicious food. Unfortunately, my last three visits have left me utterly disappointed. While the staff was friendly and accommodating, the food quality and overall cleanliness of the kitchen left much to be desired.
On all three occasions, the main issue I encountered was the consistently dry and burnt food that was served to me. It seemed like there was a serious lack of attention to detail when it came to cooking my meals. The first time it happened, I figured it might have been an isolated incident, but after the second and third visits, it became clear that this was a recurring problem.
To make matters worse, it seemed like the stovetop in the kitchen was neglected and not cleaned properly. Every dish that made its way to my table was accompanied by a layer of charred scraps and blackened residue. It was as if the cooks were unaware of the impact this would have on the taste and presentation of the food.
I tried various items from the menu, hoping that it was just a particular dish that was suffering from these issues. Unfortunately, each time, my entrees were dry, overcooked, and borderline inedible due to the burnt taste.
I understand that kitchens can get busy, but basic kitchen hygiene and quality control should never be overlooked. I felt like the restaurant was cutting corners in the cooking process, and it reflected poorly on their reputation.
Given the great service provided by the staff, I wanted to overlook these food-related issues and focus on the positive aspects of the experience. However, when the main attraction of any dining establishmentāthe foodāfalls short consistently, it's challenging to overlook.
In conclusion, I must say that I won't be returning to Texas Road House anytime soon. It's a shame, as the potential for a great dining experience is there, but the execution and attention to detail are severely lacking. Until they address these fundamental issues, I cannot recommend this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wish I could give it 4 stars for when it's good. But I only go there at the insistence of my husband. And after the last trip there I doubt we will return. Normally the service is good and the food is ok. My husband is a fan of the pork chops with peppercorn sauce. I tolerate the rattlesnake bites and boneless wings. When I order the herb crusted chicken, it is hit or miss whether it is good or not. When it's good, the flavor is great, and the meat is juicy. When it's not, the chicken is bland and kind of rubbery in texture. I stopped ordering it because of the inconsistencies. This last time, we waited an hour before getting our food. I ordered the appetizer combo as my meal, and it was great. All of it! However, my husband's pork chop was not cooked entirely, and his loaded mashed potatoes didn't come. When they brought the potatoes, they were cold, and they had to take the pork chop back. They offered to make a new one. We snacked on my appetizer combo while we waited. Another 45 minutes go by, and we are still waiting. At this point, the manager has told us it's coming soon and he would be taking the pork chop off our bill. Another 10-15 later he brings out the food and by then I was done eating, and my husband's potatoes were missing the loaded toppings. At that point, my husband said, I don't even want it. Just take it back. Needless to say, we received a credit for the pork chop, but not for his potatoes upcharge. I honestly cannot begin to tell you how frustrating it is. A nice night out ended up being a very mediocre and stress filled night. I mean, at least the waitress kept my husband's...
