Here’s the deal. Applebee’s is nothing special, they’re a chain restaurant. So no matter which location you go to the menu is always going to be the same. However, we were very dissatisfied in just about everything, except the service, which is was. Even the waitress seemed a bit flustered by the staff, and I don’t blame her. In fact we left a very nice tip and had a nice chat and assured her, that we probably won’t be coming back. And we likely will not. On this particular night, the World Series was on telephone- and the volume was EXTREMELY LOUD. So much so it had to be deliberate. Listen, we came for a nice no frills meal. What we got was mind numbing extremely loud sound volume. To the point we very kindly ask, “can you please turn it down a bit” to their credit they did, but just a bit. The commercials were still mind blowing loud. I suffer from hearing loss, and I can say, at that volume? They’re causing their own employees hearing loss, Shameful.
And ironically? Virtually NO ONE in the place was watching the game.
Further I ordered a Shrimp Caesar salad and a French onion soup. The soup was meh, just okay.
The salad? Might as well been salad soup, literally drowning in Caesar dressing.
My suggestion? A new manager.
Obviously there was one there, he or she knows how loud it is, he or she should be aware and monitoring supervising the cooks and kitchen staff.
Left with a headache and my ears ringing, and still a bit hungry as the salad was practically inedible,
Won’t be back, with that much going on? I can’t fix stupid
But I can point it out.
You’re welcome. And this review...
Read moreWhen arriving I parked my car to the right side of the building because it was so windy, and we had to walk to the left side of the building to enter because the front entrance was closed. We were seated within a couple minutes, that was a plus. I ordered the new Mountain Dew on and it was flat; that's where the service went downhill. I told our server and she never brought back a new drink or offered something else. After ten minutes she finally came back to our table to take our order. I asked to get a Pepsi and the Pepsi was slightly flat. My sister and I slit on the 2 for $35; I ordered the spicy honey chicken on penne. Our meals arrived, and one have no sauce on it. We agreed that it's okay to have the sauce on the side. It turns out that our plates that arrived were other guests' meals. My sister had already started eating, so they took back my plate and not hers. My food came out a few minutes later. The food was pretty dam good, no issues there. While eating the food, our waitress didn't come by our table much. So we only had one refill on the drinks. After eating we ordered the molten lava cake. Pretty dam good too. Went leave we had to split the order and it took 10+ minutes. Great food, nasty soda and terrible service. Hire more workers or you will lose more guest...
Read moreI was dining alone so I guess I was not considered worthwhile. I had to wait a while before the waiter came by to get my order. The restaurant wasn't extremely busy but appeared to be understaffed. When I ordered, I pointed to the picture of what I wanted and said I wanted it exactly as shown (fries and green beans) and the steak cooked medium. After a while and several drink refills, the waiter brought something completely different from what I showed him. He gladly took it back after I repeated my order. After a while and several drink refills again, the waiter brought me plate but with mashed potatoes instead of fries. I asked if I could get the potatoes swapped. He said ok and within 2 minutes max, someone brought a fresh side of fries. At that point I was good to go and enjoyed the meal. I guess I didn't look like a dessert person because it was not offered so I paid the check and left. Ieft a tip but not my usual generous amount. The weird thing was that I was there the previous night with a friend and the food and service was fine. We had the same waiter. I left a nice tip and thanked him for the meal. The next day must have been a really off night. Eventually, when I decide to go back, I guess I will find out. Until that time, I have a lot of other places to...
