This place is great! It's our favorite Mexican restaurant vintage the valley. It's very popular and starts filling up at about 4:30 p.m. They don't take reservations, but if you call while you're on your way and ask them to hold a table, they will do that if they can. The 5 of us each ordered different things. I ordered a la carte 1 chile relleno and a homemade corn tamale. They do have happy hour prices, check photos for details. The guacamole is excellent, just be sure to ask for it with your chips before the meal, otherwise they often bring it with the meal. Their chile rellenos are perfect. Fresh, fluffy, light, non greasy, not watery, and the chile is really fresh and has just the right amount of cheese. Our server was terrific, really on the ball. Everyone enjoyed their meals. No desserts, too full. I included pix of the full menu as of April 2023. The original restaurant is in Indio, which we have not been to. The one we go to is on Cook in PD, almost at the 10 in an industrial park. They have outdoor seating. But it can be quite windy down there by the 10....
Read moreIt was a very busy evening but we only waited 5 minutes for a table. Many of the servers don't wear masks (all men)- others do (all women. Just saying). There were simply too many tables inside for the number of servers - it was 20 minutes before we got water, and 35 before we got drinks served, partly because the bartender was chatting instead of making our drinks; our server went to speak sharply to her and then we watched her make our drinks. Mine was supposed to be a "skinny Marg" - she just added some soda water to it and we were charged an extra $5 (again, our table was near the bar and we watched). My ceviche was delicious (although not a real ceviche - the shrimp cocktail was the exact same ingredients plus tomato juice) and my husband's chile relleno quite good as well. Our server was cheerful and never quit moving the whole time we were there - my disappointment was with the time it took to be served, and the poor bar service. This strikes me as a place that the owner spends very...
Read moreExcellent Authentic Mexican cuisine! Such a great first experience, service was perfect. We sat on their outdoor patio which had heaters!!! Super comfortable and fun atmosphere. Friday night and the place was VERY busy, we were offered chips and salsa with drinks very quickly. Our server was BEYOND friendly, we really enjoyed her personality and attention to us the entire meal. I ordered the Grilled Burrito with steak, OMG probably one of the best steak Burritos I ever had. The steak is super tender and taste like fajitas sizzling in the Burrito. The wife got the flautas with chicken and bean with rice. The flautas were crispy and had a really tasty marinaded chicken flavor. The rice and beans are authentic and a perfect match to any dish. I washed my meal down with a Mezcal Mule and a pineapple and jalapeño mezcal drink that was EPIC🔥. WE...
