ISLAND BOBA SUSHI POKE — Restaurant in Palm Desert

Tried this place bc it was close to our hotel and it did not disappoint!

Went around 1:30, after the rush, and was seated right away. Options for seating include: sushi bar, inside table, or outside under bistro umbrellas.

Ordered poke bowl, dragon roll, spicy tuna and Thai iced tea.

DIY poke bowl: pick a base, 3 protiens, then up to 5 toppings, and 2 sauces. I went with rice base, tuna, salmon, unagi (eel). Added edamame, crispy garlic, Seaweed salad, green onions. Sauce automatically comes to the the side and I went with the eel sauce (sweet & tangy) then creamy sesame. Mixed them both together! Delicious.

Dragon Roll: XL roll filled with a creamy crab salad mix. Topped with a generous amount of Avocado and BBQ eel. The single peices were so large I struggled to get them in one bite!

Spicy Tuna Roll: definitely has a kick to it! Usually when I get spicy tuna, it's very mild, with less kick then paperback cheese. This is actually spicy. Balanced with fresh cucumber and green sprouts for a touch of crunch.

Thai Iced Tea: nice mix if sweet and Thai tea flavor. Helped cool off my mouth aftertaste spicy...

Too expensive but overall great poke. Only a few bites could you tell the fish was frozen, other than that tasted very fresh and delicious. Their house sauce us wonderful, spicy but also slightly sweet with rich flavor. I highly recommend I added tuna,salmon, cilantro, onion, crunchy onion, and crunchy garlic to mine (see photo) it was very very good. I'm very happy they have cilantro as an option. I wish they had just a few more options but still great. The one downside is they are about $3 per bowl too much. There are plenty of other poke places that charge 12-13$ for a bowl with daily fresh fish... so I'm having hard with this place being as big as it is. Definitely delicious if you dont mind spending the money. Also, need to try their boba again, the last time I had it the boba was very poorly cooked (way over cooked) and insanely sweet, way too sweet. I like sweet boba but this was off the charts. The drink itself was sweet too so I was very put off by the drink, I took just a couple of sips and...

In Palm Desert this is our to go place for boba ( from now on)

We were nicely greeted when we first came in, the establishment looks & feels clean overall.

Our server was excellent, very attentive, she made personally our boba drinks as well, she recommended us the crunchy roll, we ordered the Vegetable Tempura, California roll, Crunchy roll, Korean BBQ beef ribs (came with a small miso soup and a side)

Our boba drinks were my personal favorite a banana smoothie with coffee jelly boba, and a tarro smoothie with boba both were fresh & cold and very delicious. (This is now my official to go place when it comes to boba drinks) The prices are the best for these boba drinks, TBH the best I've seen all over the valley. Including Starbucks.

Our rolls were made fresh, the food matches the prices on quality, the service is great, attentive staff.

They give you a mini mint candy along with your check , awesome detail.
