My Family and I decided to celebrate Cinco De Mayo at Armando's Dakota Bar & Grill. We have been coming to this restaurant for many years. It was a very emotional day for us, we had just left a Funeral for one of our close friends. When we arrived at the Restaurant about 4:30 Pm my Sister in Law walked up to the podium to put our name on the waiting list. The owner of the Restaurant was checking people in. He totally ignored my Sister in Law, who is Mexican. He then helped the white ladies who were walking in after we had arrived. The owner yelled at my Sister in Law in Spanish, "What do you want?. She said we needed a table for 4 people. The owner said it would be a 90 minute wait for a table in the shade or inside the Restaurant. My Sister in Law said we could sit on the patio area. The owner pointed to an empty table in the Sun. When my Sister in Law questioned him about the table, he yelled in Spanish "Take it or leave it lady". Wy Wife then asked the owner again in Spanish if he had anything else available. The owner yelled at my Wife ,Who is also Mexican, " You want the table or not, I am busy". We ended up sitting at the table, only because I told my Family that I was really hungry. We witnessed the Owner of the Restaurant (See attached photo) showing favoritism to the white customers, and being Racist to other Mexican Customers. My Family and I will NEVER go back to this Restaurant. There are so many other great Restaurants along El Paseo drive DO NOT GO THIS RESTAURANT! You will be very disappointed

If you’re in Palm Springs and craving authentic Mexican food, Armando’s Dakota Bar and Grill is an absolute must-visit! Conveniently located on the main strip, this vibrant restaurant came highly recommended during our stay at the JW Marriott Hotel and Spa while attending a real estate conference—and it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a lively, friendly atmosphere that instantly made us feel welcome. The outdoor patio dining option was especially enjoyable, offering great views of the bustling street and the beautiful Palm Springs weather. The service was outstanding—attentive, personable, and genuinely eager to make our experience unforgettable. When it came to the food, everything we tried was packed with flavor. If you visit, don’t miss out on the table-side guacamole, which was freshly prepared to perfection, or the margaritas, which were some of the best we’ve ever had. For entrees, the Carne Asada and Chile Rellenos were exceptional and bursting with authentic Mexican flavors. Beyond the food and service, the restaurant offers a great vibe for both casual meals and celebratory dinners. Whether you’re a local or visiting, Armando’s is the perfect spot for amazing food, lively energy, and warm hospitality. We’re already looking forward to returning on our next trip to Palm Springs! Highly recommended for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience.

2/11/2024 Stopped into Armandos for an early lunch before heading to a Super Bowl party. We started with margaritas, chips and salsa. Raul was our server and was attentive and managing to handle many tables. My wife ordered the enchiladas suizas and I had Lupes chile relleno. The food was good as were the two rounds of margaritas 🍹. Super nice vibe and ambiance on El Paseo. The dining experience was positive and a great place to people watch...highly recommended. Previous visit We stopped at Armandos for lunch today and were greeted by Sandra our waitress. Sandra was very sweet and nice and tool our drink order and of course guacamole order. Shortly thereafter a nice young man fought us the chips and salsa right about when the drinks and guacamole arrived..quite good. We sat outside in the patio which has fans and misters as it was only 108 degrees...Sandra came back and took our order. I have Lupe's famous chile relleno platter and my wife had enchiladas suizas. I must tell you that Lupe's relleno is the best I have ever had...unbelievable...so tasty. We enjoyed out time at Armandos, food and service! A great place and highly recommended...

I came to this place with my father, apparently, the staff thought I was his girlfriend. While waiting to be seated, the staff chatted between themselves about how lucky my father was to have a girlfriend like me. I guess they did not realize that the UC system recommends three years of foreign language for acceptance. Anyway, I could let it slide, as I was hungry.

We waited for what seemed like five minutes to get our drinks served, and for our food order to be taken. The place did not look packed, but it took longer to get our food. While we waited, no one came by to check on us. We just sat, talked and wondered when the food was going to come out. As my father stood up and said, "Let's go," it arrived.

The food was nothing special, of course no one came back to check on us, once the food was delivered. That was too bad, because after I took two bites, I found a large black hair swimming in chile verde sauce. My father to wave down anyone who would pass by, but no one stopped. Finally a man came by and asked why he was acting that way. He told him that there was a hair in my food. The looked at it and said that it was ours.. I can assure you it's not mine. My father asked to speak to the manager, and the man told him that he was the President of the restaurant. I've heard of GM's and owners, but never president's of restaurants. Oh well, the President would not replace the food, or take it off the bill. He said if we did not pay for it he would call the police.

That was enough for us. We gave them a credit card to pay the bill and where told that the credit cards were not working and we would have to pay cash.

If you are looking for food with a little extra, bad service and a visit from the President, this is the place. If you want a nice dinning experience; so...

Don’t be fooled by the charming ambience! We came here because it was the only place open. The chili Reno dish that combines banana, beef, raisins, and cheese In a puréed mush is disgusting- don’t order it. We spent over $120 on this meal and after getting my partners order wrong, refused to take it off of the bill! They could not give us something different, because the waitress didn’t check on us until the kitchen closed. My partner thought he’d eat a few bites and then explain when she checked on us but she never did until it was time for the bill. We were starving so he ate it, although he’s trying to avoid red meat for health reasons. He started With a complement because he’s polite, “ This was really good, BUT not what I ordered…” The waitress got the manager, who said it was too late because we ate it, and then the owner came to our table and said, “The waitress said you told her everything was fine and you loved it! You eat the food so you have to pay for it. If you didn’t like it you’d have to send it back and we throw it in the trash and make you something new” I’m sorry, but I shouldn’t have to sit there starving for half an hour waiting for the waitress, and then wait longer for you to make me a new meal… we should be able to snack on what we have until you make it right! Plus, she never checked on us and the kitchen was long closed by the time we had the opportunity to tell her something was wrong. I told the manager “Fine, but I’m not leaving a tip!” He was happy with this solution, punishing his wait staff for his decision. I told him we wouldn’t be coming back and he...

BE CAREFUL, THIS RESTAURANT IS BELONGING TO A THIEF!!!

Me and my wife had a dinner, my wife forgot her cellphone on the table, I walked back to the restaurant 3 minutes later while my wife is waiting in the parking lot (in the car), when I ask where is the cellphone all the workers told us that there was no phone on the table when we left, thanks to Google Device Manager I found that the phone is still in the restaurant, when I told the worker that I know that the phone is here, they keep telling me that there is nothing and "I'm more than welcome to check for myself in the kitchen", I called to the police which didn't come quick since it's just a cellphone and everyone is a "OK" physically, I give up since I waited too long for the police, walking back to my wife outside in the parking lot, my wife telling me that the guy who served us in our table visit his car while I was inside the restaurant, here it go... he put my wife cellphone in his car, when I came to his car and waited for the police he came and run away, the owner of the restaurant let him go early from his original shift, the owner of the restaurant pushed me, telling me that I'm no allowed to stay in the restaurant after finishing my meal..., this is the worst experience I ever had in my life and I totally recommending you guys on sharing this review to your friends and family so they can see for themselves what kind of people are working and running this restaurant, if there was an option to give minus stars in here I were to do so, but lucky they're getting this 1 star. Disgusting...
