I just experienced the worst dining experience EVER at Goody's on Gerald Ford and Cook st. I ordered Huevos Ranchero's. The eggs in the Huevo's were runny and raw and the sauce on top was more like spaghetti sauce than Ranchero sauce. The beans and rice were cold and had no flavor. I returned my plate to the girls behind the counter stating that the egss were uncooked and they all stared at me like I was crazy. They all immediately acted like they didn't understand English. I asked for something else and they just continued to stare. One of the cooks came out and just glared at me. No apology, no offer to make something else, nothing but blank stares. I asked for just a side of bacon since I didn't want to wait for anything else to be prepared as my friends breakfast was now getting cold. The bacon they brought was so salty I couldn't even eat it. It burned my tongue. The two girls behind the counter sat and snickered at me the whole rest of the time we were there. Food was gross and service was...
Read moreWe stopped by Goody’s on our way home from staying at the Westin in Rancho Mirage—it was only about a 6-minute drive from the hotel. I ordered the pancakes, my sister had the French toast, and my husband went for a double bacon cheeseburger. The clear winner was the French toast—my sister said it was the best she’s ever had and talked about it the entire drive home!
The food came out quickly, with the French toast arriving first. They do offer “fresh-squeezed” orange juice, but it’s pre-packaged in a plastic bottle, so don’t expect it to be freshly juiced on the spot. Prices were average and reasonable.
The pancakes were fine but nothing special, while the burger was solid. Overall, we’d definitely recommend Goody’s and would go back again for a quick breakfast option. We chose the sit-down service instead of the drive-thru, had no wait to order, and there was plenty of...
Read moreI ordered breakfast items that are sort of difficult to get wrong, but Goody's managed to mess it up. Pancakes were the best of the lot, but nothing special.. same with the breakfast sausages. The scrambled eggs tasted absolutely awful. I tried to drown them in ketchup to hide the bad taste, but the ketchup actually made it worse.. not sure what was going on with the ketchup. Tasted rancid. I only had 1 bite of the eggs. The coffee was really, really bad as well. My mother had a bowl of chili and could only eat one bite before giving up due to bad taste. We were initially really happy to be able to go back to Goody's in the location they were in years ago, but I will not be going back...
