Goody's Cafe Palm Desert — Restaurant in Palm Desert

Breakfast specials ordered from Goody's Cafe Palm Desert Prior orders via delivery services arrived hot and well made - even pancakes and eggs. Not last night. Cold food made poorly. Teeny eggs (smaller than before: cost cutting measure?) cold - and well done, not over easy because arrival cold meant they had to be re-heated. French toast: very very dry - beyond the outside that shows, inside dry bread (learn how to soak in your egg mixture, not just dip and flip please). And note: depending on which delivery service you use, a "Breakfast B" or other combo may be different - some with meat, some without, some with two pancakes, some not - check each delivery service before assuming ordering the same item on another service gets you the same meal (or price for that matter). I learned the hard way. With the exorbitant fees delivery services now tack onto each order (check those, too - for same restaurant, the added fees will vary), it's hardly worth ordering online - especially when a simple breakfast will double in cost by the time the fees get tacked on - and that's even with what they call "free delivery." I had placed an order for chili cheese fries and was trying to tell the lady that answered the phone that I'd like light chili and light cheese and she was cutting me off and rushing me the whole time I was trying to place an order. Then when my husband showed up to get our order he wanted to double check with them about the chili fries and he was told everything was correct and good to go. So my husband went home and opened the chili fries and they where DROWNED in chili and cheese. So I had called back to see if we can return them without them being touched for the way we had asked them to be, the woman who had answered was very unsure of us returning our messed up order to replace for a new correct order. She had finally said we could and when my husband returned the order they were rude and he could tell they where irritated about it and did not apologize for them messing up. Don't work in the food business if you can't have good customer service especially if you are the one who made a mistake. All it takes is bad customer service to ruin good food. Chili fries over all wasn't the greatest but the burger...

Man...this was the PLACE....for years the secret place to get fantastic food at an UNBELIEVABLE deal and tell people on the low in the hopes the restaurant wouldn't catch on! Well....idk if Covid or Inflation or whatever is the culprit but sadly this place...is no such deal anymore. Club Sammie? $9.99. Not bad right!? Well factor in that to make it a combo now it's...wait for it....$6.50 to add fries and a drink!!! 6.....FIFTY!? Glad it's near the 10 cause that's highway robbery!!! Heck cheesecake factory has a club with fries for $13 and the drink is $3. That's the same price for a sit down restaurant with ambiance. Listen if I'm on a quick lunch date and Im not in the mood to ball out Goody's was the SPOT!! Well now I'm definitely not going to bring my girl to Goody's if it's the same price at the Factory. I can be economical and make it look better plus get that sweet bread the Cheesecake factory has too FOR FREE. $6.50 for fries and a drink add on y'all must be crazy.
