Joe's has always been my favorite sushi spot and I love the food but after my experience yesterday I may just have to order my food to go. The customer service was horrible the waiter Garbiel was just rude from the moment we walked in. He never greeted us or introduced himself he just pointed at the table and then walked off. I honestly only know his name because it was on my receipt. Anyways after we sat down he came over with menus and dropped them on the table, no acknowledgment of us and left. 5 mins later we had to wave him down to get drinks. He then took our orders in which my wife told him if she can have the sauce on the side on her Chino roll because she wasn't sure about the mango sauce,, he looked at her like her request was offensive or something. Then when our food came of course my wife's order was wrong and they put the sauce on top. She didn't like the sauce and when she asked if they can remake it he said no because they would have to charge us for both rolls. Before I could say anything my wife told him that doesn't make sense when they messed up, when she asked for a manager he said "let me go talk to she chef." He came over reached over my wife's plate she was eating on took the messed up roll and walked off.. no communication. Then he went and got a bucket to clear the table behind us and stated slamming the dishes in the container breathing heavy like we just ruined his day. Couple mins later he came sat the roll in front of my wife, no excuse, no apology, again no acknowledgment of our presence and walked off. At this point we are completely over it so we asked for a box to go, he heavy breaths again and went and got the box. We paid and left. Thank God I know Jesus because he was 🤏🏾 from seeing me going all the way off. Great food, horrible service. Might be time to try some new...
Read moreJoes Sushi was my first experience with eating Sushi as I have always been lure of eating that type of food. I had always heard it was raw sea food arranged in rolls wrapped in seaweed.
I am prone to getting infections very easily so felt I should not take a chance eating it and causing an infection that would not want to leave my body.
However getting into a discussion with a couple of friends suchi is much more then raw seafood and explained meay things that I could enjoy and not have to worry about it as there are many options to choose from and still have a nice selection to choose from when going out to it.
I had crab, shrimp, cream cheese, wrapped with white rice mango acroos the top on the side was pickled ginger was a nice bonus to have with the roll slices.
wasabi was also on the side of the plate which is something to stay away unless you are a person who has trouble getting things hot enough for your enjoyment it is exceedingly spicey hot so handle with care if you choose to use it. A very small amount on a finger tip amount would probably be a good...
Read moreI was in La Quinta for work today and I am not familiar with the area at all. On my way out of town I pulled into a shopping center looking for a place to get some lunch and I happened upon Joe's Sushi. The store front is very unassuming and the name "Joe's Sushi" and then in smaller print "Cabo Style" doesn't immediately conjure images of tasty Japanese cuisine, but that's exactly what I got. Let me be transparent and say that I had the salmon teriyaki bento box, which was very traditional in that it came with miso soup, salad, tempura, of course salmon, and I got the spicy tuna roll. So, I really can't comment much about sushi but I can say that the tuna in the roll tasted very fresh and the rest of the box set was very good as well. I'll even give props to the tempura, which I am typically not a huge fan of but in this case the batter had a slighty "thicker" consistency and a very good flavor. My final comment is that I walked in not really expecting much but I walked out feeling very satisfied...
