Project Burger — Restaurant in Palm Desert

Seriously now- how did we deserve to have such a cool place about a mile away? I was thrilled when my son told me he wanted lunch- an excuse ti explore!!

Project Burger has been open about a month. I heard about it two days ago, so being the food explorer I am, we had to be among the early visitors!

Take Country Club going west from Washington and right at the light on Park Center Drive.

Behind the building on the right, you will see an outdoor seating area and the Project Burger sign.

There is lots of parking here.

The place was hopping at 12 on Saturday. The excited voices are a clue that this is a successful experiment. It was crowded with hungry people the whole time we waited at the bar.

We took our order to go home, right across the bridge at Sun City.

We ordered the bison burger with caramelized and raw onions, tomato and pepper jack, the bourbon croissant with smoked pork, bourbon glazed onions and bacon and sweet potato waffle fries, a vanilla shake, and the chicken garlic prosciutto sandwich with garlic curly fries.

The seasoning on everything was delicious!!

My husband is here repeating "This is so good" "I cannot wait to go try everything!"

Staff are sweet and welcoming. They are part of a large family of many chefs and entrepreneurs.

We are encouraging you to check out this dynamite restaurant- a new hidden gem we truly appreciate!!

Group of four. I had the pork belly smash burger—incredible! Pickled onions, creamy avocado sauce. The pork belly was so sweet and complemented the beef perfectly. The sweet potato fries with a habanero cream sauce were both sweet and spicy. Two had the project burger. A fairly plain burger done perfectly—exactly what they wanted. The fourth ordered two tacos—one shrimp, one pastor. He liked the pastor much better. The shrimp was a little tough, probably overcooked a bit. We all ordered shakes. Very nice. Project Burger knocks it out of the park. We had a chile relleno burger that was the perfect amount of spice, the patty had a nice crust, and the toppings were all in great proportion! We also had the chicken sandwich with arugula and burrata that was also excellent. Of course we had to get one of the famous shakes in a bag and loved it.

The service was excellent, the dining room is small but efficient use of space, plus extra patio seating when the weather is nice.
