So yesterday my wife and her friend went for a drink at the fix and asked to sit at the bar because there were 3 seats not occupied and when my wife asked the owner he said they were being held for the patrons wives who were shopping. They sat them at a table in the bar and they watched as the three men sat there talking and ordering absolutely nothing while the seats sat empty. Eventually the wives came back and started showing their husbands all of the stuff they bought, yet not one of them ordered a drink. My wife asked for her bill and then then asked to speak to a manager about why they were not allowed to sit at the bar and enjoy their drink. The owner came by and actually and i'm not kidding threw their money back in their face and said "we don't want your kind here"! He then went back to the bar and actually told the three couples who were at the bar what happened and as my wife and her friend left they started clapping and yelling to get out and go back to LA. Ironically, we are locals here and live her year round and actually had dinner there last week. I can't believe a business owner would act this way to any patron for asking a question and then tell them he didn't want their "kind" in his restaurant. Totally unprofessional and such a douchebag. Well, I guess from his comments he doesn't want locals at his restaurant so we will oblige and NEVER EVER VISIT HIS RESTAURANT AGAIN and I would encourage other locals to eat and drink at a restaurant that actually values...
Read moreDinner with a side of COVID-19. We've eaten here several times. Our dinner tonight was ok until we saw the hostess seat several people without masks. Palm Desert requires masks to be worn when not seated at a table. We were dining with my parents in their late 70's and my mother has COPD. She expressed concern about people not wearing masks. I asked the hostess about it and told her they needed to follow city code. The owner/manager then came to our table. Confronted us and told me, while welcoming everyone else, that I was never welcome back. If he is that ambivalent about the safety of his guests in the front of the house, can you even imagine how bad it is in the kitchen? Looking around, we saw people sitting at the bar, people dining inside and tables are not socially distances. It's obvious they care more about their bottom line than peoples safety and health.
On top of that, my husband ordered the ribeye. It was less than 1/2 inch thick like something you could buy at a...
Read moreI had a terrible experience at this restaurant on Thanksgiving night with my wife. First off, the staff was not friendly at all and informed us that the kitchen was closed, and they were only serving the chef's special pumpkin pie. We agreed, but when the pie arrived, it turned out to be two small pieces of Costco-made pumpkin pie—nothing special at all. One of the pieces was so tiny that we asked for a replacement, but they refused and insisted that this was all they had. To make matters worse, they charged us $10 per piece, even though the bill listed "carrot cake." When I asked about it, they explained that the pumpkin pie wasn’t on the menu, so they charged us for the carrot cake instead, claiming that the pie was "free" because the kitchen was closed and we weren't getting a full meal. This whole situation was frustrating and incredibly disappointing. Not only did we not get what was promised, but the entire experience was handled poorly. Would not recommend this...
