Honestly our favorite place to go. I was reading the negative reviews just for fun and it was insane seeing all the people who took the time to complain on Google rather than just mention their issue at the restaurant! Honestly- we go to taquerias ALL-THE-TIME. So we KNOW what taquerias are like, and this one goes above and beyond all others. Also…avocados turn brown people😂 it’s not rocket science. How does someone leave 1 star because your avocado turned a little brown? 🫠 I bet these reviewers are the ones who like to score free food… because this restaurant (in Mission) is by far the cleanest, most authentic and GREAT tasting food in Mission/McAllen. The negative reviews seem to have just had a bad day… literally you all need to just bring it up with the manager if you have a personal issue with something. It’s not hard for them to fix the issue then and there. I saw someone complaining because they ate $75 worth of food and only got $20 refunded even after they ate the food… sir… nobody gets free food. That’s anywhere you go. We have NEVER had a bad experience. In fact, we just ordered our food for pickup right now and they were super polite and friendly! Can’t wait to eat our delicious tacos! 😍 It’s our new favorite taqueria, and if we ever had any issue, obviously like adults, all we have to do is TALK to the staff there. I’m sure it’s that easy to get something resolved. The amount of negative reviews that could’ve just been handled by a simple conversation are crazy… no need to bring an incredible business down just because you had a bad day and don’t have communication skills to speak to someone in charge. Thank you Taquero Mucho for your excellent food, and your clean facility! It’s the one taqueria we love to keep coming back to! 🥰

The first couple of weeks after opening were great and was hoping to frequent this Taco place more often but on my 5th visit now and things unfortunately have dwindled. Tripas. The staple of great taco restaurants. The tripas when ordered Crispy I'm thinking are cooked on a high heat plancha and the taste is charred and takes away the delightful synonymous flavor of Tripas away. They were done correctly before, no longer. The Lonches had two with missing avocado, come on, cut up another one. Consistency is the name of the game that keeps the doors open and keeps the consumer coming back. Once they start to neglect the food going out it's the start of faure. I really hoped to have Taquero as my long term "Taco" place but I may be moving on and searching again for another. $3.50 drinks is a bit high for little cups! Tried breakfast Tacos although good, they gave me two for an order of three. Ugh, right. Oh well.

I think what attracts people to this place is the atmosphere and the diverse menu when compared to other taquerias. That is certainly a plus this place has going for it, and the owners sure know how to market their brand. For me though, what is important is how good the food actually is…..

Tacos: I ordered the Tacos Reynosa, which is 5 tacos with your choice of meat/tortilla and they add queso fresco and pico de gallo/avocado. I chose fajita with corn tortillas. The meat lacked flavor big time. Even after adding salt, I still felt it was missing something. I tried to enjoy them, but having experienced much better tacos before, I just couldn’t. To add insult to injury, the meat was cold. I could tell the tortilla was put on the grill with some oil, as it was warm, but the meat felt as if it had been chopped earlier and set aside. Which is fine, but normally it’s put back on the grill to heat it up before serving. I can tell they hadn’t done that, perhaps in a rush.

Beans: Notice I labeled it beans, not charro beans. These in no way are charro beans. I’m huge on charro beans when eating tacos. These beans were really really just not good. They were literally just boiled beans with some consume. In the beans there was ZERO cilantro, onion, tomato, chile, or anything that made me think they were actual charro beans. I think they might’ve had some chicharron, but that was about it. To make matters worse, the beans were barely above room temperature. That’s a big pet peeve of mine with taquerias. Serve your beans hot for crying out loud, not barely warm! Naturally the beans get colder as you eat them, so it only makes sense to serve them hot. Plus for me, they taste better hot, which these were not.

Potato: This was its saving grace for me. The potato was actually good. It wasn’t out of this world good, but enough for me to give this place more than one star. It had plenty of cheese, crema, and some butter. The biggest thing though, it was actually hot!

NOTE: When I went, it was very busy. Not that it justifies my experience, but I am willing to give this place a second try to see if my opinion changes. If and when I do, I’ll...

If I could give a 0 I would. I was so exited to try this place since my hubby and I pass by it all the time. I finally had a chance to get my hubby to go by there. Since we took the dogs out for a car ride, well we weren’t going to get down. We went through the drive thru and we asked the lady for a few minutes to look over the menu. She said yes. It wasn’t anytime close to closing by the way. When we were ready we said ok we’re ready. We didn’t hear anything. We went back and forth in case there was a bell that would alert you someone was at the drive thru. NOTHING. Then we honked and yelled at the speaker didn’t hear anything. We were so dumb and waited for about 10 minutes and got NOTHING. My hubby got SO SO mad and said we’re leaving and NEVER coming back to this place. We moved forward to drive out of the drive thru and the girl that was on drive thru was standing there talking to a guy obviously not wanting to work. WOW!!!! Didn’t know you could take off your headset and put it on your neck and stand there and chit chat with customers. Why does so many places hire kids. Some of them don’t take their job seriously. Not good service at all! Can’t say anything about the food because we got NONE. Was going to order about 60 bucks worth of food but didn’t happen. Very disappointed customer and will...
