El Gallo Tapatio — Restaurant in Palos Township

So my boyfriend and I order a taco dinner, includes 3 tacos and I get 2 tacos for myself... Bill comes to almost $20... I say that seems high... my guy goes up there and asks and it turns out they charge $1.00 per taco for sour cream... so he asks if they can just keep that off... nope they made them just that quick... we're like whatever, what can we do now but felt pretty shady.... get home, open the bag and they put 6 sizeable hot sauce containers... just asked for 1 so this seems excessive (let me point out these were free) open our tacos and they barely have any sour cream on them and one seemed to have none at all... mind you we paid an extra $5.00 for this barely there smear and one had none at all.... the taco itself wasn't bad however I think an extra $1.00 is pretty steep or at least make it a policy to inform folks at the counter (or put the price on the large overhead menu) of the upcharge....and if they do pay it, actually put it on the taco... better yet don't give away vats of homemade hot sauces and perhaps you can lower that upcharge. Just a thought. Really...

We are trying to support local businesses, but this one I cannot anymore. Rice tastes like it was done days ago. Today I ordered a vegan torta dinner. I told the person on the phone that I just want a Torta with beans rice and vegetables. She corrected me and said "oh so vegetarian torta" I said I suppose if that's what's on that. I came home to find out that the torta had cheese and sour cream. I called them to order it again because I dont want any cheese. I came home and it had sour cream. Mayne I should have been super specific and should have told her that I want the Torta Bread with cooked smashed beans,cooked rice, shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes and sliced onions. I just gave up on this place. And they want to raise the prices during these times. Sorry but they lost...

It's a good Mexican restaurant in the southwest suburbs. Their food is comparable to Mexican restaurants in the city and that's hard to find out here. The burritos & tacos are great although depending on who's cooking you might get a burrito that's more tortilla & less everything else & last week I had no sour cream in my burrito which is not a big deal except for the fact that they charge you extra money to add sour cream & I was charged but didn't get it. The burrito was still delicious though. That's why I'm giving them 3 stars because the food isn't consistent depending on who's cooking. I've never eaten in, the setup is just like any other fast food restaurant but it looks like they have great table service and...
